My personal belief is there is no god and there are many. Confused? Everyone needs something to believe in whether it be in themselves or a higher power.

Well, there is the God Who made the Heavens and the Earth (i.e., the Universe and everything else) and then there are the "gods" of the nations, the pagan gods, which the people make.
============
Do we believe He is the only God?
Well, it seems that He believes it: "Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else." -- Isaiah 45:21-22
Since He believes it, and since we are called "Christians", then it seems that we should believe what He believes!
==========
When the Bible "makes reference to several gods" it is referring, mostly, to what people worship (idols) though there are spirits connected with most of those idols. As in the book of Isaiah, those are gods which people make from wood or stone or metals. The Bible clearly distinguishes between those gods which people make and the God who made people.

I'm a Bible believing christian. There are many gods, but only one God. The gods with a 'g' is anything that you place in a high position, this includes supernatural beings or money or personal belongings, anything. The God with a 'G' is the creator of the universe and the one that upholds the laws* of this universe by his very breath.This God is worthy of worship.
*laws - including atomic structure, gravity, inertia,and any other governing laws that commands what reality must be confined too.

The Bible makes reference to gods because angels are seen and thought of as gods to man.
The Bible mentions pluralities because God is a marriage of two things that are alive - good and truth
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is like the soul, the body and the works in a single person. This statement is even in the Athanasian Creed.

Sure does, if that's what God were talking about. Perhaps next time, before you ask a question, pick up the book you are quoting from and make sure it's actually in there, okay?
If you think that is such a bad thing for God to tell His people that they should have no other gods before Him, then you must think it's a horrible thing for my child to love only me as Mommy. If she went around calling everyone mommy, don't you think it'd be a good idea to set her straight?

When the bible refers to "other Gods" God is actually speaking of the things we as humans make our Gods. Like Television for example... we run home to watch certain things at certain times casting away everything else in it's path. There is only One God. And that is Jesus Christ.

There is only one God and that is God Himself. God did not join a popularity contest. God destroyed false gods, gods which does not exist actually.

ONE GOD
1 Corinthians 8:4-6
So now, what about it? Should we eat meat that has been sacrificed to idols? Well, we all know that an idol is not really a god and that there is only one God and no other. 5According to some people, there are many so-called gods and many lords, both in heaven and on earth. But we know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything, and we exist for him. And there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom God made everything and through whom we have been given life.

I believe in one God. I also believe there are many false gods. It is my opinion that to believe in God, Allah, Yaweh, Jehova (spell check) and any other name this one God is known by is correct. I believe there is also more than one road leading to God. Each must select his/her own road to travel in search of God.
I also don't believe in one true religion. All or none may be true. I follow the path that I believe God has set before me.
