Construction info on what? Roofing? Rainscreen cladding? Tanking?

As for good places for specs/BS, the IHS is well worth subscribing to. They offer searchable and downloadable BS documents, RIBA and other publications, also product specifier catalogues. Look them up on http://uk.ihs.com/products/construction/index.htm. The last time I checked they charge about £2000 for a year's subscription. Put it on your office expenses.

As an architect you shouldn't need to find construction info, free or not - you should KNOW it already.
