If they're not, do you think they should be? I do. Anybody who could be even slightly damaging, let alone having AIDS or something should not be let in. I suppose this doesn't stop the illegal immigrants spreading diseases too though. I'm not saying it's just them that would have diseases but as they except to come to our country I think the UK should test them first. Unclean? No entry!

An extra point by the way... I'm anti any type of immigration and I don't care what you think of me for that! I'm just saying that seeing as we obviously have no choice about how many of them are invading us, we should at least be allowed to make sure they're germ free.

Legal immigrants must pass a health test, for Aids/HIV,any contagious diseases.Illegal immigrants don't of course because they are illegal.TB is very prevalent from Third World country's as are a lot of diseases that that been almost if not completely eradicated from other more progressive country's.This is what is required to enter the US,it may be different in other country's but I doubt it as all thinking country's wish to protect its legal citizens from the diseases the illegals can and do bring. Along with all the other social and crime related problems they create just by being in our country.
This is just another added threat to the country they enter into illegally.

Yes Dar is correct several cases of leprosy and polio have been found in different states and traced to illegals. Its a frightening problem. We here in the southwestern part of the US are being flooded by hundreds of thousands of illegals coming from our border with Mexico .Mexico encourages the illegals to come to the US and so Mexico's poor and sick become the USAs problems. No amnesty
Deportation not Legalization of illegals.

What country? Oh, UK. The US checks for diseases. That is, for legal immigrants. We had eradicated but have back penicillin resistant TB, leprosy, polio, etc. from illegal immigrants. And we have some new ones we had never heard from before, as well. It is one of the problems with having people come, unscreened.

I would tend to believe that the UK checks diseases.

I mean even on Ellis island the immigrants had to cough hard to show if they had TB.

Regarding AIDS (to the person above me) it isn't an outright ban, but the need to go on public services has always been a screening factor, for every country.

I really don't think that is a requirement for coming in legally. I do think it should be on the list of things that needs to be done. When they are here and go to a doctor and have something they should be deported immediately. I am sick of all the illegals also don't care who knows it either. The sad thing is that we should have learned from 9/11 what can happen. The ones that hijacked ( illegal and expired visas)the planes were taught how to fly in the US. I don't care what country you are from it you are here illegally then go home and get a physical and a mental exam and get the paperwork finished if it takes 20 years.

IN THE U.S...LEGAL immigrants are checked for diseases. They have to go to get tested for sexual diseases and also have to see a physician . but in the case of a person entering illegally...who knows what they are bringing into this country.....

I am not sure if they are tested for any diseases. If you look in any hospital or doctors in the UK they seem to be the majority in the waiting room. sniffing and wheezing their dirty breath everywhere!
- I should imagine screening for diseases and blocking entry is bound to fly in the face of the human rights act also.

if they come in legally they do get tested before entering if they come in illegal there is no way to know what diseases they are carrying but at least they can get free health care at our expense.

No they are not tested, that is why tuberculosis is coming back to the States, those people are not innoculated for any disease. I say make them stay in their own country.

Honestly I'm not sure...I do hope so. But what are they gonna do...an immigrant has HIV or AIDS (The Modern Plague) and they say "You cant come here because you have HIV and AIDS."

lol I'm sure they will say they are discriminated upon on some level. It is my personal opinion that there is enough disease here...why risk the spread of more.
