For someone who is just starting out and really heavy that is great. Make sure you drink 8 glasses of water as well, it helps! Once you are comfortable with this, make a goal to go 5 more min, add another 1/2 a mile. Really if you can walk that mile 5 times a week would be better. A mile isnt really much unless you are climbing hills and walking at your quickest pace.
You will lose more weight if you makes changes in your diet...
for instance cut out breads unless they are whole wheat, no chip, cookies, icecream, candy etc. Eat veggies, fruits, lean meats and drink that water!
Good luck to you! Sounds like you are off to an already great start!

Exercise is only part of the equation. You can exercise all you want and still not drop any weight if you don't get your diet in order. Your exercise plan is perfect if you don't do regular exercise and you want to get started, but you would be better off if you did something every day, even if it's just a 15-minute walk. Every little bit helps. For your diet, you don't have to give up everything you love. Just cut back on the stuff that you know is bad for you like soft drinks, fast food, junk food, saturated fat, refined flour/sugar, etc., and eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, eggs, lean meats, and lowfat dairy products. The more you exercise and the better you eat, the more you'll lose.

i would do gazelle for 10 minutes 5 days a week and walk about 1/2 mile a day for beginner. increase walking to 1 mile after a week and increase 1/2 mile each week. but to lose weight walk 5-6 days a week. key is to burn calories and 3 miles a week is not gonna cut it.

Don't get overly concerned about your weight. Think more about being healthy and looking good. Diet is extremely important. To slim your body you must:

Burn more calories than you eat.

Cut your fat intake.

Eat three cups of fat free low cal yogurt a day (make sure it has live cultures in it). This helps you break down your food.

Do 45-60 min. of aerobic exercise a day (preferably before you eat in the morning).

Do 20 min of weight training three times a week. This will build lean muscle which will in turn burn fat.

I lost 40 lbs in two months and have kept it off for two more months doing this. I also took my body fat % from 30% to 14%

Be Blessed

I wouldn't worry, walking is actually good for the baby. You are still fairly early on and exercise is actually recommended during pregnancy. I don't think you have anything to worry about. My Ob/Gyn said that light cramping is normal in early months because your uterus is still stretching and growing, as long as there is no bleeding and the cramps aren't severe don't worry.

If you watch what you eat...its diet + exercise. YOu can exercise all you want but if you dont lay off the cola, sweets and junk then its a missed opportunity.

If you are starting out, that is fine. It won't take long to increase your time though. Eat healthy foods, and the more you exersise, you should eat a little more too. It works.

Three miles once a week is not enough exercise.
