It is not the Babylon located in Iraq. During Desert Storm so many books came out saying that Babylon was the answer – this was it and I said absolutely not because I believe the Babylon of Isaiah 18, Jeremiah 50 and 51, Revelation 18 happen to depict the United States of America. Listen to me, first of all, it is the last of the super powers to come into existence in Jeremiah 50:12. That was 1776. We are some of the latest in history. Baghdad and Iraq has been here for centuries. Secondly, it is a nation of tremendous wealth in Jeremiah 51:7 and that wealth is lost in Revelation 18:10, 17, and 19. Thirdly, it is a nation that has a tremendous amount of missiles and atomic weaponry so that it can shoot into the heavens and use her missiles globally and that is Jeremiah 51:53 and 58. But here is some of the most exhilarating evidence ever Isaiah 18:1. “Woe unto the land shattering with wings which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia.” The symbol of the United States of America is a great eagle with outspread wings. But, John Allen Watson a great geographer sent page after page documenting this and he took the rivers of Ethiopia going southward and found 14 of them and a ocean to be crossed that came out in Oregon and continuing south ward went through Canada and back to Israel and Ethiopia. He proved to me that it was the United States of America.

No. The Statute of Liberty doesn't at all look like a "whore." She's modestly covered and represents liberty and rest from oppression.

The reference to "whore" does not make sense unless a person understands that God equates spiritual infidelity with adultry.

Rev. 14, 15, 17 and 18 all very explicitly explain that the "whore" is an actual city; 18:9 explains this city will be built on 7 hills (which seems to describe the Vatican).

With this in mind, the "whore" of Babylon is best understood as the city where a world religious system that is guilty of spiritual fornication will be based. The beast upon which she rides is the one world government set up by the Antichrist.

RE: your futher comments, Isaiah 30 refers to Egypt. You must consider the context and not isolate Scripture; this will lead you into error. Also, NYC is not a city built on 7 hills. The Vatican has, for many hundreds of years, been referred to as "the City built on 7 Hills." Do a web search -- there are several other such cities, but none others meet the criteria as the "whore."

Babylon is this world 2Cor.4:3,4 that Satan is God over. The world that Jesus is no part of.

Well realistically the argument could be made that NY was the mystery babylon but in order to fulfill that particular prophesy there is more to it than simply the falling of towers. The bible says not one stone will be left standing in the city and no inhabitants will be living there. And it also states that it will be so totally destroyed that it will never be built on again. Obviously as they already beginning the rebuilding and people are most definately still living there, it does not quite fit the prophesy. But it is a close guess and we are in the end times.

No, You have to know what the scriptures is actually saying, There is no high mountain around NYC, But Isa. 30:25 is talking about the fall of the Assyria. This is a prophecy. The Mystery Babylon is none other than ROME-The Vatican
