could take u a few tries, but u cud try Bblonde hair lightener. it comes with a brush, and just pick up the bits u want to blonde, and cover them in the bleach, i advise u get someone to help with this, make sure there even, at the sides, and the back. and if it does go a bit ginger the first time, just wait a few days, then repeat, and u shud get blonde highlights.

It's very hard to highlight your own hair without it turning orange, looking spotty, or looking like an unnatural mess. Go to a salon & have a professional do it. It'll cost you more, but it will not be messed up. It's hard to get dark brown hair to blonde without it turning an unwanted crazy color (especially without the professional stuff), & bleaching alone may not work, you may need to put a blonde semi-permanent color ontop of the just bleached hair to make it look blonde, instead of orange.

I have dark brown hair, and I got blonde highlights, brush in (I have thick, long hair, can't deal with cap) and I slowly went from low blonde then got higher, later on. But, best is to go to a Beautician, as they will know how to mix it up, and will not let your hair to go ginger. As, at one time, I use to get red highlights (I normally have them, but divorced a red head, and wanted to be different, ya know?, LOL!)

When they did my hair, and it wasn't an expensive hair salon, but they did my hair, and they did a great job, and I get a lot of compliments on how great it looks, from friends, all the time!

Just call and ask for the best colorist in the place, and hang up, and call back to either make an appointment with her or some let you to drop by and then ask for the person~

I wish you luck and that you get the look you want! ((((BIG HUGS))))

depending on how dark your hair is and how you gonna highlights it ? i would personaly cap higlight and use a powder bleach with a 12 % peroxide apply plenty off it and bleach can only be left on the hair for 45 mins no longer or your hair will snap
dark hair will never go blonde blonde there are 7 stages of bleaching and they are blk -dbrown - light b -red - ginger -yello- pale yellow the longest stage to get out of is the red stage so thats when you must never take the bleach off apply bleach to dry hair and never never leave on longer that 45 mins

Why on earth would you want to do that? You have lovely hair right now. The more unnatural stuff you place on your hair the faster it will drop out or turn brittle and break off. Look at it this way, that hair has got to last you for "a lifetime." Don't use dyes or bleaches or tints. You may wind up bald like my girlfriend. Just think about all the hair salon money she saves.

you can buy highlight kits but they are not that Strong, I would think you could still buy powder bleach and peroxide (40%) ask your chemist you would need to buy a highlight cap and hook and you would need a friend to help pull the hair through the cap - if your hair that is dyed brown is with semi permanent colour you shouldn't have too many problems - if you have used a permanent dye then you could get yourself into a right state! you would need to go to the hairdressers they charge a lot but you will be over the moon with the results.

Go for lighter brown highlights that give your hair the sunbleached look. You want it to look as natural as possible. It's also less obvious when they grow out. I would go to a professional salon to have it done and get flashes rather than using the cap. If you can't afford a salon, please don't use bleach as it destroys your hair and lifts the follicles, allowing for further damage by elements. Your hair will get split ends and it will begin to look like straw. Go for a more natural product. Walk into a salon and ask advice! Its free:)

ì have brown hair and got blonde highlights into it about a year ago but i am now back to brown and i am now paying the price for leaving the blonde in my hair so long it broke my hair so bad that it will take me 6 months to get it back to its original state and that is from cutting out the dead hair.. i have desperate trouble when i was my hair cuz its frizzes up it doesn't even stay straight for long when i straighting it so bleach at your own risk and if you do take breaks of going back to your original colour to give your hair a chance to recuperate .. and i would def do it in an hairdressers as i did and could you imagine the damage i would of done if i did it at home ....so be aware .. it will look lovely when you get it done but at what cost further sown the line...

do it at a salon, they won't ruin your hair. I was exactly the same as you, did the same thing, and my hair went lovely at the salon, it cost a bit, but it was much nicer. And by the way, you hair will drop out if you use bleach (they dont use it at hairdressers for highlights some weird accellerator stuff they use) but it wont if u go to a hairdressers. i wud stay brown though, cuz trust me, I had to dye mine back, and cut it off, (its nw in a cute bob) because the ends were so damaged so I'm now waiting for it to grow back and can't wait to see my natural colour. Good luck x

i would go to a salon if your hair is really dark even with bleach you wont lift it past ginger, to help use a light brown hair colour, the ones that only last 8 - 24 washes rather than permanent ones, but honestly seek professional help first
