All Christians have a story of what brought them to Christ, the different things they had to go thru to get there. I want to know how you found Christ and how your life has changed since.

I wasn't raised a Christian or any other faith (live in UK if that helps). I had very few christian friends and none of them said anything that made me believe in Jesus. I thought God must be there somewhere but the Bible was nothing more than a fairy tale to me.
We moved as a family in 2001, and the first friend I made turned out to be a Christian. I felt sorry for her, so young and no fun. She invited me to her baptism, on the beach, and as it meant so much to her I went along. I was a little embarrassed to be there at first (happy clappy lot, the first time I'd ever encountered that type of worship). However, as people gave their testimonies something started to stir in me. I realised they honestly believed they had a relationship with a living Jesus and that they had changed since they met Him. Then the elder gave a talk on how people look for happiness in all the wrong places when all they need is Jesus. I felt I was the only person on the beach. When he asked, 'if anyone wants to be blessed by Jesus, raise your hand,' I put my hand up and was immediately baptised in the Holy Spirit. Nobody touched me or prayed for me, they wouldn't even have known what had happened, I didn't even know! I was also healed of depression at that moment. I gave my life to Jesus because meeting Him was the most amazing moment of my life.

My mom brought us up talking about Jesus
When I was 12 years old I finally went forward to accept Jesus, they were singing "Just as I am" Then I was baptized at 16, a very difficult age, lots of peer pressure but I was so excited and knew I was ready. Even though I always knew about the Lord ever since I was very young it took a process over a few years. It has not always been easy and I'm ashamed to say I have not always done the right thing, but I'm so blessed the Lord always forgives me even if I don't forgive myself.
Thank-you for asking the question
Please pray for me

What about what led people away from Christ?
I was bought up in a christian family, as I read more about the origins of the religion, it became clearer that while there was some historical basis, it wasn't set in stone.
I also had a couple of bad experiences with the church who seem to drop people like hot potatoes if they are unable to go to services.
Since dropping the Christian religion, I am more in control of my life, less of a worrier and definitely much happier.

Best wishes.

The conviction of my heart by the Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit can lead a person to the throne of Christ. People plant the seed and water it, but it is the Spirit of God that causes that seed to sprout and the love of Christ that causes that sprout to grow into a fruitful plant. I was at an extremely low point in my life----I was ripe for the work of the Holy Spirit. I was saved in church.

I went to church part of my life but I thought that made me a good person. I read the Bible but didn't really understand all of it. I got married and we went to a Pentecostal type of church. I realized through teaching, that I was on the way to Hell. I accepted Jesus and was baptized with the Holy Spirit and then in water.
Since then most worldly desires have left. I have a hunger for Jesus. The Bible is alive. I have love for my fellow man. I am a better person because of this.

I've known God all my life but it wasn't till 2003 where I really felt him, U see I've always believed in him but I wasnt close enough to him to actually feel his beautiful pressence and so I met my boyfriend, he was christian, he invited me to church, at first I went to see him play the piano but then I started to feel out of nowhere this beautiful inexplicable feeling that let me understand that he was there. And now I go for God!!

But It was also the sense of security that he gives me everyday that lets me know that there is something other than hate in this life. And the weird feelings u get when u talk with him (its lke butterflies in ur stomach w/nerves all over ur body) And it feels great. U have to feel it to belive it (if u havent done so)

I dedicated my life to Christ at the age of 33 when I realized that I couldn't run my life on my own anymore. I was running it into the ground and my misery was way too thick. God changed me from the inside. I have joy...and peace..both were new to me. No one can do the impossible, but Jesus!

"When I was alone, searching for a melody,
He sang a sweeter song and gave it as a gift to me
And that which I feared most is that which is most precious to me now."

I was taken from my home at age nine because my mother was abusive. I was bounced from foster home to foster home, suffering more abuse. Then, in the midst of this trauma, He came to me at church camp. What a love story it is and yet my words do not do it justice. I just know once I was lost and now I'm found.

When I was around 3 years old I realized humans weren't worth a crap and I needed someone to look up to, so I chose Jesus. I'm 40 now and still haven't ever meet a human that is trust worthy enough to look up to. Everyone needs someone to give an example on how to be in life. He's the only decent roll modal I know of.

I was brought up that way, taught about him during my early years, taken to church later in life and went to christian rock concerts and plays. It was great! Was then left to make up my own mind. There has to be soemthing otherwise where did we come from. I'm sorry I don't believe I was a monkey do you?
