My daughter woke up this morning for daycare complaining of her left thigh hurting. It hurt her so bad she was actually limping slightly. She said she didn't hurt anywhere else, just that thigh. She didn't do anything over the weekend that she normally doesn't do and she wasn't complaining that it hurt last night. Should I wait to see how she feels later (after daycare) or get her into the doc this afternoon? Should I be worried?

I let it go for a day or so and check on it tomorrow morning. It's very hard to determine the cause of a sore spot or "routine pain" from a four year old. (Everybody has a sore muscle or joint once in a while from something or other.)

I've never been in the habit of rushing my kids to the emergency room for every little reason...I think that's how hypochondriacs are trained! Besides, the doctor would likely tell you exactly the same thing that some person on Yahoo Answers will tell you...except a Doctor would cost you a hundred bucks.

Of course, if you know your kid had a bad fall, or if there's a gaping wound...that's a different story.

Good luck!

It could be growing pains. Sometimes my daughter had them in various singular places throughout her body at any given time, but if it persists after daycare today, I would get her to the doctor as soon as possible. Make the appointment this morning, you can always cancel. Also have the daycare people monitor her activity for the day and report to you what she does.

Set up an appointment in case the pain doesn't go away. Observe her closely and ask the daycare people to keep an eye on her in the meantime.

Probably nothing but tell the daycare staff and ask them to monitor. They may even offer an opinion as they are trained in first aid. Seek medical advice if it continues or worsens.

I worry about everything. Make the appontment now and check on her at daycare at lunch. If she's still in pain get her to the appointment in the pm

better ask her to lay down on the floor and lift the leg where the thigh hurts and ask her to lower her leg slowly, if it hurts a lot better take her straight to the doctor for check up.

If it were my 4 year old I think the answer is very self explanatory!
Nothing personal intended!

Take her to the doctor if she comes home and is still limping.

Get her in. You are still learning about her and what is and isn't serious. Sometimes if they have cramps during the night it will linger a while. Hoping it isn't serious.
