It is a common belief that 1 human year is equal to 7 dog years. That is not very accurate, since dogs reach adulthood within the first couple of years. The formula used above is from a canine expert and is a bit more accurate. (as accurate as one can judge these things)

It really depends on what dog you have.
To a small dog, one year can be 4-6 dog years. Such us a Pug, Dachshund, or a Toy Poodle.
To a medium dog, one year can be 7-10 dog years. Including a Border Collie, or a Boxer.
And to a large dog, one human year can be up to 12 years! Large dogs include Great Danes and so on. I hope this helped.
