The added measures of security put in place to combat terrorism have caused the costs of living to skyrocket. Terrorism is in deed one great big ball of confusion. Strange that we don't see Muslims protesting and demonstrating over radical factions of Muslims publicly beheading innocent people, or strapping bombs to themselves and murdering innocent women and children in the name of God.
So, why should the Pope apologize to Muslim leaders for his comments about Muslim violence in the name of religion? On one hand the Pope spoke the truth and would have been fully justified if he'd typecast Muslims as failed men. Because real men don't murder innocent women and children. Real men don't conduct themselves like hordes of savage animals that thirst for any excuse to violently protest against civilization.

At the same time however, on the other hand the Pope needed to balance his comments by addressing the child molestation of young boys that has been carried on by Catholic priests for decades. As well, civilization and religions as a whole needs to universally address the issue of failed men in leadership; including that of murderer--Osama Bin Laden, and homosexuals such as former New Jersey Governor--Jim McGreevy. The telltale destruction these failed men brainwash upon the mind's of the innocent youth is unfathomable.
Incredibly, MSNBC, which spends more time criticizing everybody and everything instead of broadcasting the news like the rest of the news media, buried its head in the sand like a coward rather than defend the Pope

In spite of all the efforts to deter him, President Bush seems to be the only man in the world with the gumption to stand up to terrorism. And as a result, the National Democratic Party, currently the secret haven for homosexuality and headquarters for the gay rights movement, has divided America to the point where it's almost inadvertently siding with the terrorists.
All the Democrats do is complain about the loss of life and cost of the war in Iraq. So, why aren't the Democrats taking on the issues of smoking? Countless children and pet animals suffer the torture of being forced to breathe the toxic poisons of second hand cigarette smoke. And more innocent people die each year from second hand cigarette smoke related diseases than all the soldiers killed in Iraq put together. In addition, the costs of treating second hand smoke related illnesses are devastating to taxpayers

Truth is--trim away the fat and cigarette smokers, who carelessly claim their rights to poison the air and everyone around them, are no different than terrorists. Beneath that same fat, homosexuality is a form of terrorism as well. In essence, homosexuals, as confessed by McGreevy, are human beings who have chosen to sell their soul to the devil in exchange for the devil transmuting them into zombies--living dead beings who roam the Earth in search of pure, absolute lust. Except, amid their searching these zombies are terrorizing civilization and hurting taxpayers with profane lawsuits claiming their rights to mentally and physically annihilate the natural order of the human race to save their own.

To make matters worse, if Islamic terrorists currently have little respect for America under the strong leadership of president Bush, what will they think under leadership of a weak, sissy organization like McGreevy and the Democrats? Clearly, what terrorism has demonstrated to the world is that, no matter what, in leadership men must find a way to hold on to being men...

Dear Voltwriter2000,
I do think people should support the Pope in his comments, but not at all for the reasons you seem to believe - for the Pope's comments actually did not indicate any NEGATIVE position towards Muslims and terrorism. The Pope's lecture was about the relationship between faith and reason, and the line about Muslims which caused the whole controversy can only be interpreted in this context. The line in question was merely a quote (and as such does not represent the opinion of the Pope itself). Finally, the Pope himself clearly criticised the point of view expressed by that quote in his speech. No one seems to have picked up on that. Pay particular attention to the FIRST sentence:
"Without descending to details, such as the difference in treatment accorded to those who have the 'Book' and the 'infidels', [the Byzantine emperor] addresses his interlocutor with a startling brusqueness, a brusqueness which leaves us astounded, on the central question about the relationship between religion and violence in general, saying: 'Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached'."
That long first sentence was a qualification - the Pope clearly meant to say that the Byzantine emperor was too simplistic in his judgement of Islam. And indeed, the Koran enjoins its followers to treat the "people of the Book" (i.e. Jews and Christians) with kindness, and also says that all people of the Book are worthy of the kingdom of heaven. The Pope indicated in his speech that the Byzantine emperor completely ignored this crucial doctrine of Muslim faith when passing judgement on it. Therefore, if anything the Pope was DEFENDING Islam, not attacking it.
Therefore I am equally bewildered by those who protested against the Pope for his alleged criticism of Islam, and by those who, on the contrary, say that the Pope should be supported in this same purported criticism. Both have got it wrong, and should calm down before this laughable controversy escalates into new levels of absurdity and antagonism.
Hope this helped,

i'm muslim but i'm not a terrorist nor one who murders people.
The fact that muslims don't protest the suicide bombings and unlawful killings is because we have no proof that those executions were made by muslims and sanctioned by the muslim jurists. It's easy to look like a muslim, even you can be mistaken to be muslim if you wear muslim inspired garments.
So people who have enough intelligence won't point out immediately if a person is muslim or not.Even in any court of law, one is not judged without probalbe cause or found guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
Muslims don't start violence, in fact, a commandment by God says" Fight in the way of God against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities, for God loved not aggressors.."It's very basic to understand. Probably, many thought about the commandment "Slay the unbelievers wherever you meet them." Well, that's true, but that is not the complete verse, continuation is "but if they want to make peace, be in harmony with them." There is not even an order there that they shall be killed if they don't convert to islam. They were free to continue what they believed in. Besides, that verse was pertaining to the time of the prophet mohammad (peace be upon him} when the different tribes of arabia were warring among its other and they have orders to kill all muslims and any follower of prophet mohammad (peace be upon him).
There is no compulsion in religion is another commandment of God. If muslims really killed all those unbelievers, how in the world are there so many christian arabs and other tribes in muslim dominated areas? C'mon, mate, have some senses!
The pope need to apologize, it's simple, and he will be forgiven. Whether his statements were deliberate or not, i think he have enough senses to know those words, if he understood it, would stir controversies. His staff probably have been conniving to put him out of authority so they let him made those pronoucements.
Have you enough proof that all the pilots who dropped bombs around the world are women? Real men, huh!
Islam don't promote the use of violence. We are not evil people. If that is your logic, do you mean that those hard core criminals in the penitenciary and correctional facilities are the product of christianity. Aw, mate! You probably are still young. Gain more wisdom to make critical analysis.
God bless!

The Pope has a responsibility for Catholics in Muslim countries, since Christians are harassed constantly in some places, such as Indonesia. it was immediately clear that Muslims were looking for Christians' blood using, for an excuse, the words of the pope.
so the Pope tried to reduce the potential damage by apologizing to Muslims.
In short - the Catholic church is afraid of Muslim violence, but would not promote violent catholic response in reaction to Muslim violence towards Catholics.

Why should the rest of the non-Muslim world respect and legitimize Islamic fascism? They love their own (maybe only tolerate their women), everyone else they want to blow-up, behead, torture, and convert to Islam through violent methods if need be. Savages was the right word, Asker.

Because they might be afraid of being shot in the bak of the head 3 times like that 72 year old nun!!
This latest round of Muslim temper-tantrums makes me want to join the army so I can help hunt down and slaughter the Muslims who create violence and terror in this world. The entire world is getting quite sick of Muslim bullshit. The world would be so much better off without Islam!
