"Kill the disbelievers wherever we find them" (Koran 2:191)
"The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and his messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be to be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet and genitals cut off, or to be expelled out of the land. Such will be their humiliation in the world, and in the next world they will face an awful horror." (Koran, 5:33-34)
"Not to make friendship with Jews and Christians" (Koran 5:51)
"Remember Allah inspired the angels: I am with you. Give firmness to the believers. I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: you smite them above their necks and smite all their fingertips off of them." (Koran, 8:12)
"In order that Allah may separate the pure from the impure, put all the impure ones [all non-Muslims] one on top of another in a heap and cast them into hell. They will have been the ones to have lost." (Koran, 8:37)

"If there are twenty amongst you, you will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, you will vanquish a thousand of them [infidels]" (Koran 8:65). Allah and his messenger announce that it is acceptable to go back on our promises (treaties) and obligations with Pagans and make war on them whenever we find ourselves strong enough to do so (Koran 9:3). "Fight and slay the Pagans, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem" (Koran 9:5). Our God tells us to "fight the unbelievers" and "He will punish them by our hands, cover them with shame and help us (to victory) over them" (Koran 9:14). "Until they pay the Jizya [a penalty tax for the non-Muslims living under Islamic rules] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued" (Koran 9:29). "Unless we go forth, (for Jihad) He will punish us with a grievous penalty, and put others in our place" (9:39).

Ok. Thank-you very much for your views & opinions. Some of you suggest that i do some more research as my quots are mis quoted. It is hard to find the true verses of the Quran on the net. But anyway, prehaps it is a religion that i will never truely understand just like other religions! But i respect your right to practise it!........

hello, i like the name, sugar. You're probably sweet in life.
explanations:
koran 2:191-that's correct, kill the disbelievers,..... but when there is agreement of peace, live in harmony with them. Let them continue their walks of life. This commandment was given during the time of mohammad (peace be upon him) when the different non muslim tribes were trying to kill all muslims. That order was self defense. Won't you agree if you were in the same predicament? In continuation of this verse, there was no order that those who wish to make peace with the muslims should convert to islam. They were tolerated to remain in whatever they believed in.
koran 5:33-34..what's wrong with that? Isn't that the system of justice in the whole world, to discourage wrongdoers?
koran 5:51-it didn't say you can't have spouses or love ones from different religion, or siblings , offsprings, parents, relatives, allied forces, co worker, best buddy, etc. It says "FRIENDS" because friend is an intimate relation with someone. Friends agree and love so many things in common. Isn't there a christian dogma, LOVE GOD ABOVE ALL"? So what kind of a believer is a person who have friends oppossed to one's dignity? One who don't share loving the same one true
God.One should have friend who is a believer first, muslim, christians, jews, or whatever. Won't you agree with that?
koran 8:12 and koran 8:37 I think this is applicable to all believers, muslim, christian, jew or whatever.

or just search for answers here.

I've been on this site for less than a week, and have seen this question at least 5 times.

Read in context. You are citing verses which talk about BATTLE, and FINAL JUDGEMENT. And I suspect the translation you are reading is biased, because I don't recall reading that all non-Muslims would be cast into hell - in fact I read that Allah will judge believer and unbeliever, and there will be Muslims and non Muslims in heaven, and Muslims and non Muslims in hell.

Just like when reading any other ancient text which has been translated, it is a good idea to have two or more translations available.

Here are the verses you quoted in their context:
"And fight in the way of God against those who fight against you, but do not transgress. Surely, God loves not the transgressors" 2:190
"But if they cease, then Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful" 21:192

"Except for those who (having fled away and then) came back (as Muslims) with repentance before they fall into your power; in that case, know that Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."5:34

"Believers, take neither Jews nor Nazarenes for your guides. They are guides of one another. Whosoever of you takes them for a guide shall become one of their number. Allah does not guide the wrongdoers."5:51

This was the battle of "Bader" 300 Muslims against 1000 non-Muslims they wanted to finish the Islam early, this is self defense:
"And when Allah revealed to the angels, saying: 'I shall be with you. Give courage to the believers. I shall cast terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. Strike them above the necks, smite their finger tips. '"8:12

"in order that Allah will separate the wicked from the good. He will heap the wicked one upon another, and then heap them together and cast them in Gehenna those shall be the losers."8:37

The Quran had caused shock to a race barbarous men who took for themselves each hundreds of wives, killing their new-born girls, violently persecuting the Prophet and His believers for over 13 years, worsipping all sorts of idols but God, and raising continuous wars among various tribes of the Arabian peninsula. And it is Muhammad that restored peace and established a high civilization not only in Arabia but also in other parts of the world for many centuries.

I'm Arabic and I'm a Muslim but let me tell u that I am absolutely ashamed of those who sabotage the image of Islam , being extreme in any religion is what's wrong not the Islam itself ..
terrorism makes me sick and especially those Saudian who think that what they r doing is for the good of Islam
Jihad was something necessary at the time of the profit not now ,, but they are just lost and need anything to hang on to ..
I'm an Iraqi girl but 98% of my friends are American and I sympathize with the American army in Iraq and for what had happened at 9/11 bcuz what these terrorists are doing has nothing to do with Islam ..
Islam is a religion of peace for those who truly understand it ..

Sugar coated lies. When you quote scripture out of context(an age old tactic-you didnt invent this) youcome up with some pretty shocking things-it can be done on the bible/torah etc but its such an old tired thing that proves nothing Maybe its time you actually studies with background and from sources that can explain then you can make your own informed opinion.

Any religion should be always for peace .We can fight against dis beliefs and not against disbelievers. We can fight against vices, sins but not against sinners.I think we should preach the sense of the message of God ,Allah,Noor, Supreme soul,SHIV,Akalpurakh,Jyoti-Bindu etc and we should know only HIM ,remember only HIM ,however we should respect all HIS Prophets who came to this world . to convey the message which was appropriate at that time. Now you can hear from HIM directly.

You are either with us or dead. From my very minute experience with the Islamic religion I find it to have some very strong dividing lines. Christians are taught to separate your spiritual and physical morals. In GOD's real world HE knows and commands us to be among those who are in need..... not to make them bleed ( the Crusades of old is just that ancient history). All I can say is the "proof is in the pudding". I have heard American Islamics "speak" of peace and the radical killing is not their way. But who is stopping those radicals within their religion? No one I see is doing that. I have heard a very few Islamic clergy "speak" for these killings to stop but daily the opposite is happening. OKAY someone who has truly study and live the Koran please reply. I am just not believing anything but conquer/submit or die is your spiritual calling.

have you read the old testament? it's pretty violent too, and you should read the entire Koran not a few quotes compiled by somebody with an anti-Muslim agenda.
