You can still get lard in most cornershops but I don't know anybody that uses it, heart attack in a 250 gram block.
Why not try Pura vegatable oil, solid at room temp, looks like lard but healthier

Stotties, I believe, really are made using butchers dripping and not lard - most independant butchers sell it.

DON'T BUY LARD!!!!!
Don't use vegetable shortening, either.
Lard is pork fat. Vegetable shortening is hydrogenated vegetable oil and is full of harmful trans fats.
If cholestorol is not an issue, use butter.
Otherwise, try using canola oil in your sweets, olive oil in your savouries, but DON'T USE LARD!!!!!!!

Most popular brand is CRISCO. There are tons out there. Just go into the oil aisle and check it out. Next question. No one cooks with that any more. So unhealthy. Why would you do that to your body?

What on earth you want that for????
You could get it most supermarkets (next to the butter) or try the butchers.
