Going to TSA.gov will help a lot, but here's the basics, no liquids of any kind, lotions, gels, lighters, knives, or weapons. Easiest way to know about the liquids part, is if it made of water, don't bring it, this includes lip gloss, mascara, liquid make up, perfume. You are allowed a 4oz bottle of necessary medicine, like eye drops, or solution, nose spray, and any prescription medicines, make sure the prescription label is on it so they can check the names on both. Never listen to the airlines as some of them have no clue.

Pack everything for the hold, problem solved then.
You cant take any cosmetics, or sun lotions or anything similar on board, they will take away any make up you have. My friend had her mascara and blusher thrown in the bin brand new too, I think the security bird had gone power crazy.

Pretty much nothing but soft clothes.
The FAA does not yet require a strip-search, but wait a bit.

Answer
No. TSA continues to allow laptop computers, cell phones and other electronic items as carry-on items.
Pets in the Passenger Cabin
Are there any airlines that do not allow pets to travel in the cabin?
Some airlines do not allow any pets to travel in the cabin. You can use the information above to find out specific policies for each airline.
Can I be sure that there will be no animals on my flight if an airline does not allow pets in the cabin?
No, you can’t be sure. The Department of Transportation (DOT) has rules (14 CFR part 382) (PDF) that require airlines to allow passengers to fly with their service animals in the cabin on all U.S. airlines. Service animals are not pets. They are working animals that assist persons with disabilities. There is no limit to the number of service animals that can be on any flight. Service animals do not need any health certificates to travel and they do not need to be confined in a container or cage.
How do I find out if an airline allows or does not allow pets to travel in the passenger cabin and what their policies and procedures are?
You can find out what the specific policies and procedures are for each airline in several ways. You can call the airlines’ reservations line and get information from the agent who takes your call. You can also look at an airline’s website to get information about their policies for traveling with pets.
I have severe allergies to pet dander. How can I be sure that there is no pet dander on my flight?
You will still be exposed to pet dander on every flight, even without any pets in the passenger cabin. This is because most allergens are carried into the cabin on the clothes of other passengers.
Then what should I do if I am allergic to pet dander, but I need to fly?
First, you can reduce the chance that there will be an animal in the cabin on your flight. You can fly on an airline that does not allow pets in the cabin. You can also ask the reservations agent for your airline if another passenger on the same flight has made reservations to travel with a pet. You should also check with your allergist or doctor before your trip to discuss travel related risks and ask if you should carry medications with you. If a reaction should occur during the flight, follow your doctor’s treatment instructions and ask a flight attendant for assistance.
What are the FAA rules regarding traveling with pets in the passenger cabin?
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) allows each airline to decide if they will allow you to travel with your pet in the passenger cabin. If an airline does allow you to bring your pet into the cabin, we consider your pet container to be carry-on baggage and you must follow all carry on baggage rules (14 CFR part 121, section 121.589):
Your pet container must be small enough to fit underneath the seat without blocking any person’s path to the main aisle of the airplane.
Your pet container must be stowed properly before the last passenger entry door to the airplane is closed in order for the airplane to leave the gate.
Your pet container must remain properly stowed the entire time the airplane is moving on the airport surface, and for take off and landing.
You must follow flight attendant instructions regarding the proper stowage of your pet container.
What kind of general procedures do most airlines have in place?
If an airline allows you to travel with your pet in the cabin, you must follow all FAA regulations. Usually, most airlines have additional policies and procedures for you to follow to make sure that the flight is comfortable for all passengers on the airplane. These additional procedures may include
A limited list of the types of pets that you can bring into the cabin
A limit on the number of pets in the cabin
A limit on the number of pets that may accompany you on the airplane
A requirement that your pet be harmless, inoffensive and odorless
A requirement that your pet remain in the container for the entire flight
A requirement that you be able to produce a recently issued health certificate for your pet
Where can I go to get more information about traveling with pets in the passenger cabin?
You can get more information about traveling with your pet from the following:
Department of Transportation
U.S. Department of Agriculture
National Center for Infectious Diseases
AC 121-36: Management of Passengers who may be Sensitive to Allergens

Baggage
Apart from the hand and checked-in baggage, the passenger is allowed to carry the following personal items into the cabin: an overcoat, an umbrella or a walking cane, a small camera, a pair of binoculars, a purse, a briefcase/laptop computer, a pocket book or a reasonable amount of newspaper for the flight, a baby’s carry cot and infant food to be consumed on board, a fully collapsible wheelchair and/or crutches.
Hand baggage
Maximum hand baggage weight allowed is 8 kg, with the total sum of its dimensions not exceeding 115 cm (55X40X20).
Make sure to pack your medicine, passport and keys in your hand baggage. Please find additional information on the items forbidden in hand baggage printed on the ticket cover or at Hightened Security Measures, since Croatia Airlines does not accept any liability for them being damaged or taken away by security officers.
Checked baggage
Adult passengers and children between two and twelve years of age occupying a separate seat have a free baggage allowance of:
- 30 kg on international flights in Business Class
- 20 kg on international flights in Economy Class
- 20 kg on domestic flights in Business Class
- 15 kg on domestic flights in Economy Class
Any larger number, weight or size of baggage must be declared on making a reservation.
If the weight of checked-in baggage exceeds 45 kilos, it must be transported as cargo shipment.
cargo reservations
A child up to two years of age, paying 10% of an adult ticket price, is allowed to check-in 10 kilos of baggage.
Please find additional information on items which are not allowed in checked-in baggage on the ticket cover or at Hightened Security Measures , considering that a carrier is not liable in case of any irregularities in their transportation. Information on excess baggage charge can be obtained at any Croatia Airlines sales office or at our General Sales Agents.
Baggage of unstandardized dimensions and weight, sports equipment, musical instruments and other baggage:
On making your flight reservation don’t forget to specify the type of sports equipment, musical instrument or other unstandardized baggage you will be taking with you. Transportation of such baggage is charged according to special tariffs. Should it exceed the allowed limit of 75 kilos of weight, it has to be transported as cargo shipment.
So as to make sure your priceless musical instrument will not suffer any damage during the flight, we advise you to purchase an additional ticket for it so you can place it on a seat next to you.
Checked baggage irregularities
Although we will do everything in our power to transport your baggage on time and without any irregularities, they, unfortunately, can occur. Please find information on carrier’s liability regarding checked-in and hand baggage in General conditions of carriage, and on the ticket cover.
If you travel frequently and/or carry valuable or fragile items, you may take out an insurance policy with an insurance company, considering that carrier’s liability is limited.
Baggage delay
Croatia Airlines authorised personnel will search for your delayed baggage and organise its delivery free of charge as soon as it is found.
Your baggage details have been entered into our worldwide computerized baggage tracing system (World Tracer on the upper right side of this page). Pilfered baggage
You can send your claim to our Customer Relations Department as soon as you fill in the claim form.
Hand baggage irregularities
Croatia Airlines is liable for the damage of passengers’ hand baggage only if the damage resulted by its fault. In case you have forgotten an item from your hand baggage on board one of our aircraft, report it to the Lost and Found office at the airport of your arrival. If found by our cabin crew, it will be delivered to the Lost and Found office whose employees will contact you as soon as possible.
And have a nice trip!!! :)
