My family uses the phrase and it means that "he" is being asked to do, or is doing too many jobs at once - with an implication that at least one of the jobs is impossible. I know other people use it... I have seen a quote online from Elvis Costello: "You're asking me to say that I somehow do them while my left foot is cracking walnuts, which is not the case.". But that's all I know. Any answers please!

I tried to google this and didn't find an answer for you but did find out that Jean Claude Van Damme claims he can crack walnuts with his buttocks.

My Dad used to call me Ichabod (Crane), until I found out who it was! WHEN I WAS 20 in COLLEGE and READ The Legend of Sleepy Hollow! ---> I know it doesn't have anything to do with your thingy, but, lit has that effect on me!!

It's in line with "Stick a brush up my bottom and I'll sweep the floor as well".
