Interesting question.
The Shiv Lingam has absolutely nothing to do with the Kaaba, it is part of the Hindu religion and as far as I know has something to do with Lord Shiva and fertility. But I'm sure others know better about that than I do.
The pilgrimmage in Islam is called Hajj and it is the 5th pillar of Islam in which one makes a journey at a specified time of the year to Mecca where the Kaaba is. While there one re-enacts certain ceremonial acts representing the actions of Abraham and Ishmael and Hajjar. These ceremonial acts are devotional in nature and are outlined in Quran and Hadith.
The Kaaba is a cubic structure in Mecca that has existed for thousands of years. It is purportedly on the site where Adam built a temple to God, then reconstructed in latter years by Abraham and Ishmael and has been there ever since. The present day Kaaba has been reconstructed several times.
The Hajj is a deeply spiritual journey and can be undertaken by those who are financially and physically able. It is the only pillar of Islam that is an obligation only if one is able to do it.
In its attempt to profit from the millions of Hajj and Umrah (little pilgrimage) pilgrims, or supposedly to "accomodate" them. The Saudi Government has dessecrated the area around the Mosque that encloses it as well as the area around the Mosque in Medina which is the site of the tomb of Muhammad (saw).
And Allah knows best.
Peace and Blessings,
Salim

at that time reinforce cement concrete is not in use and in kaaba the length and breadth of walls is about 10 m span and any column beam is not provided they created load bearing walls and for that they use three pillars to provide a mid support beam for entire slab which was provided over the arrangement of wooden members for roof support thats it

prophet Muhammad was sent as Divine prophet amongst other prophet, during different times IE:, Confucious Laotse,Abraham,Zorashtra,Rajajanak,Moses,Gurunanak,Shirdi saibaba & socrates.During the time of prophet Mohammad
idol worship was impeding faith & was becoming irrelevant therefore mohdsab forbade worship of idols except the big black stone of kaba since he had the devine knowledge that it was the swambhui of the shiva lingam. It is also called MAKKESHWAR SHIV.
