Considering the fact that "beaucoup" means "much" in English? Thus "Je t'aime beaucoup" should mean I love you very much but it actually means simply, "I like you." While, "Je t'aime" means more which is "I love you."

Je t'aime beacoup.... underlines that there is a limit... so is more
translated by I like you a lot..., but does not mean "love"...
Je t'aime... means "I love you", because it does not have a limitation in wording...
Yet, "je t'aime immensement" or "je t'aime a la folie" would
definately mean "love"...
I guess French love calls for more "proofs" than "wordings" anyway...

Well there are two different types of French there s French from France and there s French from Canada I would know because I m French Canadian and I took French class in High school and I failed that class because my French is almost entirely different where Je t aime beaucoup in French Canadian to english means I love you very much where Je t aime in France French means I like

Because "Je t'aime." is absolute. "Beaucoup" is more than "un peu", but much less than "passionnément" for instance, so it's very restrictive compared to an absolute form.
