Access is a database application. Excel is a spreadsheet application. Your question is meaningless.

With an Excel spreadsheet you are limited to the number of entries you can make. I have sometimes got as high as 250 entries for a prototype job-costing program in Excel. This was to get all the connections right before I did it in Access. In Excel I can do pretty much what I want with any information before or after I input it.
With Access you are limited in the way you can manipulate the information. Unless you have a clear idea of the end product, Access remains merely a database of entries, unable to do simple tasks with the information it has got.
If you are thinking of using Access because Excel is limiting the amount of information you can input. Then you are on for a long and frustrating learning curve. Access isn't intuitive. And it is not really designed for this purpose.
As many have said - they only use it as a database. Like a CD collection. They don't use it for a database of invoices because it is easy to do calculations in Excel. Access is designed to do it, but it is not fun setting it up. When you have that many entries for invoices, they will buy specialist software.

Databases offers a much more functionality compared to a spreadsheet package like Excel.
Using a database we can store the data in an efficient manner without much duplication. We can't control duplication problems in Excel
Multiple users can access the same piece of data if you are using databases. But if you try to access an Excel sheet that has already been accessed by another user, mostly you'll get a message saying that somebody has already been locked for editing (Even if they are reading the same message will get displayed).
Using SQL it is very simple for the users to manipulate the database. In Excel there is no such facility for manipulating especially for retrieving data based on some conditions.
Most the new generation databases supports relationship using which data storage can be controlled very efficiently.
Excel has its own limitation for storing data.

actually MS-excell stores data also as database (spreadsheets are the tables) but with a very limited architecture it is better to be used when data (calculations, diagrams) is to be represented without any other special interface (programs). To display a real Access DB you need a third-part application to make it better represented. Excel is not sutable for a great amount of data there is a limit on records number.. here Access is also more advanced.

Access, being a database system, is better as a means for storing large volumes of information which needs to be held for a long time and retrieved flexibly using varying criteria and in formal reports. It also allows you to define input screens, and add cross-referencing to make sure that data is internally consistent.
Excel, being a spreadsheet, is better when you need to make complex calculations using the data. It also tends to be the faster way to develop a small solution you'll only need to use once, or where you will always retrieve the data in one way.
If multiple users, and especially non-technical users, will use your system, then Access is probably better. If more than one person needs to update the contents of your data store at one time, then Access is better (because Excel will lock the whole spreadsheet for one user).

Well....If you want to do some collation of data in a database and access it. I would suggest you use access. If you would like to manipulate data in a spreadsheet you should probably use excel. You really should know this.

You can't compare the two, they function as different programmes. Access is database designed to hold a lot of information - part numbers, membership details and such.
Excel is used more as a finance, accountancy figures, statistical representations.

Each one is different from other, and they come bundles with Microsoft Office.
Excel is used for data entry in column wise and here we cannot create and formats.
Access is a Database, in which we can create database and it can be used for creating tables.
