Did anyone have a bad morning trying to get their kids who have been out of car seats for years now, back into one. My 6 yrold wasnt to impressed having to sit on a booster seat and complained how uncomfortable it was. I'm dreading the 'drama' when i pick her up! Any other horror stories?

for kelley - my daughter was not using a car booster before this law came in, because she is able to sit in the backseat with her belt on very securely.

sturdy for his momma! :) At 6, he would desire to even nonetheless be in a 5 factor harness, and could be safer that way. yet maximum individuals have their 6 twelve months olds in booster seats, it incredibly is positive. regulations selection by making use of state, yet remember that the regulation would not constantly dictate what's risk-free. Examples: a million)in many states its criminal to holiday a bike and not making use of a helmet 2)In all states a pregnant female can the two drink and smoke Its late and that i'm drained and can't think of of extra, yet i'm particular you could. ;) diverse issues are criminal that are actually not risk-free. maximum young ones desire a booster seat till they are 8-10 years previous, and that they could meet those standards to holiday accurately in purely a seatbelt: be 4'9' tall AND 80lbs bypass this 5 step try: a million. Does the youngster take a seat each and all the some time past against the automobile seat? 2. Do the youngster's knees bend conveniently on the sting of the automobile seat? 3. Does the belt pass the shoulder between the neck and arm? 4. Is the lap belt as low as achieveable, touching the thighs? 5. Can the youngster stay seated like this for the entire holiday?

Better an upset and tearful child than a dead one! Its about time this became law, car seat belts are designed for adults not a small child. I was driving behind someone on Saturday in a busy town centre and the child, probably no more than 4 yrs old, was lying on the parcel shelf. If that car was to be involved in an accident they would have been thrown threw the windscreen. Imagine how you would feel if you were to be involved in an accident and your child was seriously injured or worse died. You cannot put a price on the life of a child, and if they do have temper tantrums and get tearful because they need to use a car seat then you just have to sit and talk to them calmly about how much you love them and that it is for their own safety and that you wouldn't want them to be injured. No one can ever say..."it will never happen to me" no one goes out to have a car accident and as a parent we need to do everything we can to ensure our children are safe and secure while travelling, after all you wouldn't drive a car without a seat belt, so why put your child in a car without a proper car seat.

Better the drama of an annoyed and upset child than the drama of one injured in a car crash...

I have to say I think the new law is a good thing - I see far too many tiny kids near me (London) sitting unsecured on parent's laps, or bouncing around in the back seat, to think that anything but a change in the law will make people change their behaviour.

My Daughter is 7 and has had a car booster seat since the age of 4, so it didn't really affect her

I also agree it is a VERY good thing, however if that is what you think, then why was she out of a booster in the first place? If she had been a carseat/booster right along it would not be a fight.

I get behind my little guy and keep him moving until he gets in the seat, the drill seargent technique works, "Lets go, move it out, lets go, lets go, lets go, move it, move it". You can also try "George the Bird", George the bird lives in that tree, he was sent by santa clause to watch you, if he see's you complaining and mis-behaving, you may NOT get a lot of toys from Santa, because he flies to the North pole every night and reports to Santa while your asleep. I plan to use this until he's 22 yrs old.
