You can effectively remove plaque from your teeth on a daily basis, through good brushing and flossing techniques. What you may want to be asking is how do I remove calculus from my teeth without going to the dentist, which is not possible. We as dental hygienist's are trained with specific instruments to remove this calculus from your crown and root structures. These instruments are not available to the general public and can be harmful if they fall into the wrong hands. What I would reccommend that going to the dentist is your best investment in your teeth, undiagnosed periodontal disease can lead to heart disease, stroke, and possibly the loss of your teeth. So it's better to know about and prevent disease than to not go to the dentist, and effect your general health, not just your oral health!!
Good Luck

Get some kind of a plaque discloser, this is a dye. Get a tool that scrapes plaque off your teeth, you may find these things in a drugstore, near the toothpaste. Brush your teeth. put the plaque discloser in your mouth, according to the directions on the package. Rinse. The plaque will be tinted by the dye so you can see it. Scrape it off with the tool. Do not consider this method as a substitute for seeing a dentist for regular check ups.

Flossing, baking soda.
I suggest however you seen the dentist every 6 months anyway, since the plaque around the gum line which you may not be a able to reach is what can cause the most damage.
How about getting one more cleaning and then keep them flossed and brushed every day. Maybe you can then get by with a year. Ask your dentist.

You should see a dental hygienist. They will scale your teeth.
If you have a build up of plaque then i dont think you will have much luck trying to get it off with a toothbrush. This really should be removed by a hygienist because it can cause gum disease.

go to a wal mart or some other big store around your area and go to their toothpaste isle and sometimes some of them will have the metal utensils that dentists have, I would also recommend brushing your teeth with Colgate total twice a day
