If you are talking about mainstream religions I would have to go with Judism; which has been around well before Moses (not sure the year). Now if you are talking about all religions; then there are a few. A couple that I know of that are extremely old, however they don't exactly have a name that I can spell or even pronounce. The other ones you could go with is the mythological religions, which are still around today.

I think it would be the indigenous Australian's religion, based on the Dream Time. they have the oldest culture on earth...they have been in Australia practising this system of belief for over 40 000 years, many believe it to know be up to 60 000 years. The Dream Time is based around the idea that spiritual forces created the earth and animals through a series of events and became other animals in the process. Their central figure is the Rainbow Serpent. For them the earth and the land is alive with spirits, and they believe they are part of the earth and that it is their mother.
Why did someone give me a thumbs down do you find it offensive talk about a religion that isn't Abrahamic....they have been practicing this religion for 40 000 to 60 000 years, are you racist ? hte world does not centre on our system of beliefs, there is a bigger world out there.

Maybe Judaism...in the garden of Eden? Been around 5000 years approx. A lot will depend on your definition of Religion. Reading some of the answers here..... is Paganism really a religion? Do Aboriginal belief systems count as a religion? I dont know the answers... just asking!

The earliest religion on the earth was probably the worship of fire, or lightening, about the time men developed a brain that could decipher thoughts and I think probably by australopithacus

abrahmic religions like islam, christanity and judaism cannot be the oldest for sure, the oldest religion are definitly polythestic in nature therefore on basis of civilization I would say either the mesopotamium or the hinduism. if civilization is not taken to account ........then pagan worship (idol worship) which was being practiced in australia and some older tribes of central africa before they were butchred by muslim invaders.

A form of paganism, I would believe, most likely before even fire. Most likely the worship of the sun and the moon and the earth. The first "heavenly" bodies.
If you were a primitive human, would you not find these to be "holy"? Are they not providers and the givers of life?

the Native Americans can trace their spirituality through verbal tradition beck 15,000 years,
i do not know how that stacks up to anyone else.
most of the information about the Celts was destroied by the HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE.

i don't know it's name
but i belive it was What GOD gave to ADAM to worship him.
the pure belive in GOD & his powers.
after that the devil tried to block the way of GOD & make ADAM & his SONs worship other things.
( i give him A++ mark for his work he did as he say he will set on our road to GOD & look at us now)

from my piont of view, i think there was a single religion that was from god when he first created Adam. and then acording to Islam religion, in there quraan they say that the first profit and messenger from god was Ibrahim. his religion was somthing liek being good, and it was located in the middle east.
