I decided about a year ago to stop trying to get a girlfriend, but it still bothers me. I've tried to fill all my excess time with working or hanging out but it still comes to mind.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do to stop wanting a girlfriend?

No thanks, I have no interest in going back into that anymore. I just wanna do something about it because I don't need it.

The desire is always going to be there.Stop stressing over it and relax.Sounds like the whole obsessive thing is whats probably scaring women off.Being over eager is a turn off to most women,I guarantee there is a girl somewhere who is dealing w/ the same emotions you are. You'll run into her in time.

i think you need to stop thinking about it. It appears that you have filled up all your spare time ONLY for this reason. Just change the way you look at things. Start wanting to do all these things for yourself and take pride in improving the way you look and feel.

You'll get a girlfriend in anycase and this way it will be much quicker. Dont bother about it and things will be just fine.

Stop wanting? Really? Do you honestly think there is some kind of magical potion that will make you stop being attracted to the idea of a girlfriend?

How about you just stop breathing for 30 minutes? That might do the trick.

Don't you have friends? Just make friends without commitments. It has its advantages. You are free to choose the people you go around with. You have a much wider circle of friends. You don't have to be concerned about how your behaviour and decisions will affect your significant half. You have more time to learn more about your friends before you commit to a relationship.
So, go ahead and enjoy yourself. Do not let this issue about g/f bother you. When the right one comes along, you will know.

Go out and meet some girls just talk casually with them. Who knows what will happen, although it sounds like you've found too much to fill your spare time that won't help

Advertise in local papers to communicate over phone giving your phone number.
Meet all those who have given you the dates to meet them at a restaurant.
You will then have a good choice.
Good luck.

u can want a girlfriend, but dont want to hard, dont wanna settle for the first chick to come along. my advice..start thinking about the great things of being single, no drama, no uncomprimising obligations, no having to buy tampons for her...live it up while your single...you'll miss it eventually.

It natural to want to have a mate.

Keep yourself busy. This might sound cheesy, but the right one will come along" one day.

Get more busy. Get a part time job. Get a new hobby. Focus harder on your studies/career. Get more busy really.
