They may suggest that you rephrase your question.
The may remind you not to ask such a question.
They may want to say that if you just rethink you will see the answer.
They may prove their friendly presence.
They train the asker's patience.
They politely show their ignorance about that field.
They are not one and the same person.
After all, they are not so hateful as people who use bad words!

Those people are only in it for the points. When they do that if it bothers you just report them for point-gaming. They will get a violation notice and after so many their counts get closed down. Or they can close their accounts for with out sending them a violation notice.

I think that people that write, I don't know should fail to get their two points. Some people don't even bother with that and will just put something stupid like a star!

Maybe starting with 'I don't know' is at least an honest admission they don't know the exact answer to your question. So you know that anything else they say will be an opinion only, as opposed to hard fact.
