As this question is in weddings catagory I am going to presume you meant wedding gift
For a gift think something practical that they will use, better yet ask a family member of the couple and find out what they really want/need. If they arent registered the family will be your best resource. Money is always a welcome gift as well if you cant figure out a present yourself. They can use it to help offset the huge expense of a wedding or they can use it for their honeymoon.

I usually choose to give money. If you know them well then $20-$25 is sufficient. Some other ides would be...
Candles
Picture Albums
Picture Frames
Gift Certificate to restaraunt
Gift Certificate to store the registered at
Gift Certificate anywhere really
Buy them a spa day or a massage
Vases
wine and wine glasses or just one or the other
Hope this helps!

I'm thinking gardening gloves or a special watering can, or hoe would be excellent choices for a "weeding" gift.

A hoe makes a good weeding gift or maybe a bottle of Roundup herbicide.

A small spade and a hoe would be good. And a basket to carry away the weeds. ;o)
