if u are a good boy i know howto bypass that stupid message about genuine copy and how to make automatic updates to work flawless.... :)
and ofcorse your windows will be detected by microsoft check routines as being genuine copy :) !!!

I have the same problem. Now it's about 6 months since I found out and my comp is still working. But I switch off automatic updates and looking for a new computer. And I will make sure it's Genuine this time

I had the same. I took it back to him and he put genuine windows in.
You can still use the fake copy, it just means you cant install some programs and you keep getting that annoying balloon telling you your copy of windows is not genuine.
Your only other option would be to buy a genuine copy.
