Perry's is a reference manual, so is not really a very good book to re energize long-dormant neurons.

Suggest you buy a book used to review for P.E. license exams, such as Engineering Fundamentals, by Newman and Larock. They touch lightly on many basic subjects most engineering disciplines cover (thermo, statics and dynamics, hydraulics, etc). However, they will not get into the heavy chem. eng. areas such as fractionation, kinetics, etc. A process engineering handbook would be good for reviewing those areas.

FYI, I'm a ChE and PE.

I think SAN has a good idea. But they also have the same type of PE review books for Chemical Engineers. And it covers reactor kinetics, Mass transfer operations, Fluid Mechanic's, Thermo, and Heat Transfer. I used it to review for the PE test and passed. It has sample problems to work which knocks the rust off the memory cells.

Perry's manual has it all, it's expensive but it will get you up to date in everything
