Mike is correct, but all the others is commenting on the stepped up voltage from the flyback to charge the tube.
Beware! even if the set is off there is still 20,000 to 23,000 static electricity stored in the tube, do not try touching anything inside if you're not competent enough to discharge that static energy.
It should still be there for normally 4 days if your tube is in good condition.
Thats why we have to wait for a while before the screen brights up when its fully charged.

Basically the amplifire in the tv is of 24 volts.
U can see that tv can run even in the lower voltage........!
But inside tv the voltage increases for the best performance.
And due to that the voltage ranges
from 500 to 1200 v for colour tv. and 200 to 700 v for b/w tv.
but dont try to open it while connected to electricity board.

there are 2 type of voltage 110V and then the high voltage section that drives the picture tube if it is black and white it is 200 to 400
if it is colored it can be anywwhere from 500 to 1000v
