alright for one kicker are pretty good even if other people say the suck for one the put more sound out because of there square shape because they have more area to move and what not and they do pound a lot because when I got my kicker I had a old 50 watt amp in my car and it powered it pretty good but don’t get a sony amp or sub cuz yea sony sucks and for the amp get either a Memphis or a Rockford there are really nice but not cheap lol but yea jsut look around on the net or best buy my bro got to infinity’s from best buy and they pound alot but the were good when there wasn’t a lot of sub makers out there and then no one wanted them because they sucked compared to the other ones but my friend has 2 12 inch phoenix gold’s they are good but my brothers pound a lot better and more

Im with smooth up untill the 2 dollars per watt thing, thats crazy its more like a dollar per amp for a very high end amp, but sonys suck regardless, go with hifonics, best bang for buck i know of and they have alot of bang, i got a 2000 watt rms 4000 max d class amp thats 1 ohm stable with subsonic filter and a lowpass filter built in for 350 dollars well worth the money and i would do it again without thinking twice

Circuit City's doing "maitenance" on their site right now. Is it a Kicker L5 you're asking about? If so, they sound absolutely horrible, compared to an L7. I'd rather have one 8" L7, than 2 or 3 12" L5's, they're that bad. Well, they have no "bottom end", at least. They don't sound much like subs to me, more like midwoofers.
If it's one of these, (except the L5's): http://www.crutchfield.com/S-fA7whcLjM5V/cgi-bin/ProdGroup.asp?search=Kicker+VENDORID206&searchdisplay=Kicker&osp=&skipvs=T&g=510 I think you'll be happy with how they sound. Also, Sony amps suck, especially for the money. Even these cheap little amps are MUCH better than Sony, in my opinion: http://www.crutchfield.com/brands/brands.asp?brand=Profile
If you're just trying to add some thump to your system, you'll probably be happy with something like this, especially if you'll just be throwing it in your trunk, anyway: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-fA7whcLjM5V/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?search=bandpass&i=700V103XT and here's the larger version, with 12's: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-fA7whcLjM5V/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?search=bandpass&i=700V123XT

the sub is average/below average, save up a little more and get the L7 as for the amp please do not waste your money. that amp will do nothing but overheat and cut ouot every 10 min. one easy way to tell if its a good amp is how much you are paying per watt, if its less than 2 bucks a watt stay away.

run the amp at 4 ohm, sit back, and be blown away.
