Your question proceeds from the assumption that all Christians are the same, and that all those who call themselves Christians are. They are not (in both cases).

Religion is something created by man. Your two choices for answers are unimagninative and unproductive. Apparently you suffer from those in your personal experience, and now feel a need to insult others. I'm sorry your view of Christianity is such as it is; hopefully this won't have eternal implications for you; I personally will pray that you find the "Truth" you are obviously looking for. Those who "bash" God's people, generally are themselves seeking God...

So I counter your question with one of my own:

Those without Religion:
1) Self absorbed prideful self righteous people who fail to acknowledge their God.
2) Lost people stumbling through life, seeking their Creator, and a personal relationship with their Savior and Lord, who just haven't yet acknowledged the truth; but will in time.

I hope you are the 2nd.

You should study cultural anthropology. Having a belief is the core of all human action. It is what helps us determine right from wrong, how to interact with others, and keeps us going in the hardest times. Also, humans are group oriented creatures. From the beginning of time, humans have lived in groups to survive. It is a known medical fact that if we are isolated too long, our psychological processes go haywire. A group belief in something is needed for psychological survival.

kurleylovescheese,
What if I am not into organized "Religion?" What then? Your comfortable formula doesn't work then?

I guess you think you have it all figured out, don't you?
