i m 18 and i need a car that will basically get me from school to work to home.
i dont want anything fancy. also i want a new car not old

If you want something new check out the new VW Jetta. The basic package (which is far better than the Honda etc.) will fun you about 15000. The warranty is great and VW has improved a lot over the last few years. If your not too into it then you can look into the newer Hondas and Nissans. All of the cars are good values. You can compare all of them at edmunds.com. Its a great resource and awesome for comparing cars. Good Luck!

I know you said not old.... but you should consider a Geo Metro. I am 45 & I have had alot of cars (even now I own 5) I bought one soley for the mileage almost two years ago, (mine is a '94 --real old) & I run the _____ out it. still gets great gas mileage & takes all the stuff I want to carry in it. I have even taken it up into the mountains a few times -- right up to & past where other people are getting out of cars & walking. It's not a sporty car- purely funktional.

A Ford Focus is a great deal, cheap to buy and to maintain.
VW will leave you broke, as all work has to be done in expensive dealerships.
