yes it is ok to do it sometimes but if you do it all the time that is a little bit of a problem. You must get over your fear of death because if you go to bed worrying every night whether or not you will wake up in the morning it will consume your life and you wont be able to be happy. Just be thankful everynight for the day you got to spend in this world not in wonder of if you will wake up in the morning. Life is a mystery none of us really know how long we have in this world only god knows that and he knows when it is your time to go. So stop worrying and live your life

Yes, I've done that. Or, if not prayed, mused about it. I spend a lot more of my time, however, terrified of the nightmares I'm going to have when I go to sleep, and so I just don't sleep.
But...is it normal sometimes? Well, if you mean common I would think many people have thought that at least a few times in their lives. Is it healthy...probably not. It's an escapist way of thinking, and a dramatic and all-or-nothing/black and white way of looking at the world. I would call it indirect suicidal thoughts. If you're thinking about his every night I can be almost certain you're in a lot of misery and have even contemplated suicide.
Try finding something to look forward to the next day, even if it's getting to crawl back into your bed the next night.

I don't, but many people do, so it's not really abnormal, but it is a sign you should seek some help.

If you're praying you won't wake up because there's some kind of pressure or difficulty in your life that you feel like you just can't handle, you should get some help dealing with that situation, whatever it is.

If you're feeling this way for no apparent reason, you should see a doctor and try to figure out what is going on. It could be that there is a reason, and you're repressing it, or it could be simply some kind of chemical imbalance that requires medication.

Remember that feelings are just feelings. They are not reality. You can find your reason for living again, if you look for it. Please get some help.

"Humans live their little lives in quiet desperation."- William Shakespear.

You really sound depressed! I also have prayed to die quietly but it hasn't happened so far, after 44 years, so I have moved on to actually doing things that I enjoy. I figure, if I have to be here, then I am going to enjoy my time. I started by exploring new hobbies, did some volunteer work, and made some career changes.....it worked! I no longer think about death every day....sometimes only once or twice a week now! A true friend told me once, "Suicide is still an option....but I don't have to do it today." I have put thousands of "todays" together and learned to seek happiness where I can find it.

I hope you can too!

I used to feel that way occasionally when my life was more difficult on a daily basis and the circumstances were beyond my control. And I do think that just about everybody feels that way sometimes. But all the time or a lot of the time is not healthy, that's when you have to reach out for some kind of help in the form of friends, therapy and maybe medication. And for me personally, when things are rough it's great to create something to look forward to, no matter how small or silly it seems at the time.

yep i often wish that i could go to sleep and not wake up. i think everyone has thoughts like that sometimes (or maybe not). if u are doing it every single night, well i would assume that u are suffering from severe depression and some kind of mental disorder.

No i am sorry that i have not..Why are you thinking about this..You should never let anyone or anything ever become more important than yourself..if you cant love yourself no one can and there is something in everyone that is worth living...you have in some way changed someones life somewhere thruout yours and you might later on in life..read the book "The 5 people you meet in heaven".. by Mitch Albom..That book after i read it changed my life..

No matter how frustrated I get with what's going on with my life... I don't... On the contrary, when I get these nightmares where I find it hard to wake up or move my body... I pray to God not to take me yet... I am not ready... He listens, though.. and grants my prayer. So be careful, you might get what you are asking for.
