I have been talking to this guy for 8 months. He seems to be loving, shy, and sensitive. His past relationships didn't work out because he is impotent. I really like him, and I told him that I still want to be with him anyway. He tells me that he doesn't want to be serious, and I know its because he had his heart broken more than once in the past. Sometimes I feel like he has really given up on love. He seems to really like holding me in his arms and being close to me, but I think that he is afraid I will break his heart. I want to stay with him, but I don't know how long it will take for him to really feel like I want to be his forever.

i must commend you for your humanity, heart, and empathetic observations...

you can't really blame the man... i mean,...if i had my heart broken from craptacular women who left just because of an uncotrollable medical challenge, i'd feel pretty miserable too, especially if he's heard that story before...

but there ARE medicines out there, now...so he can get help...if he is that bothered by it, offer to go with him and seek help together...hand and hand..show him you'll be there through thick n thin...

don't give up... have patience...keep SHOWING him what you say....so he sees and believes you....

hope it works for you both...

My situation is a very different one but my husband's first wife died and he swore off of women after that because she cheated on him with his brother. He was afraid that he would have his heart broken again too. He was very unsure for a long time but he's better now. The only thing I can say is to make sure he knows that you will never intentionally hurt him and let him come around on his own.

One more thing. Has he ever tried Viagra?

That is something you really need to decide for yourself if you want to stay around for. Needless to say it sounds like he tends to push people out of his life, out of fear of being hurt again. Sometimes it just takes a lot of patience to build up that trust so he does see that your not like everyone else and really are there for the long haul. Good luck in your decision.

Don't worry, be happy. Patience on your part will reveal whether or not he's worthy of you. If he's just afraid that you'll hurt him by leaving him after he's given you his heart, then each day with him will serve as reassurance that you truly want to be with him and not ever leave him. In other words, time is your friend. Just let the days roll by and do your work for you. When the magic number of days that it takes to convince him have gone by, he'll be yours.

sorry, you won't get anything out of the relationship without sex. I mean, you might really connect with him, but there will be always be something missing in your relationship. But if you aren't a sex freak then maybe it will work. But deep down inside, all of us are sex freaks.
