It dependes on your computer..

But IT Takes a lot of RESources, also it makes your computer Boot up a lil slower

The good thing you get dial up for free for at least a year..

Try Peoplepc.. or Netzero

Their software its so small and faster than AOL.

Anyway EVErybody has a pop up blocker,, and "security software"..let me tell you.. that stuff doesnot work..

They just say that on tv to scare people.. for better protection ..go and READ download.com

I have had AOL since 1995. the part that is bad is that it takes up a lot of space on your computer hard drive and memory. It tends to bog down a system at times. It wants you to use its plug ins.
I will not use 9.0 and all its security stuff. Too much splash and complications. 8.0 is still a good system and works well. Had it for 2 years and I am still not complaining. Have friends that have broadband and still have there AOL accounts full system. So, its all in the eye of the beholder.

YES!!! They upload all kinds of software without asking you. It clogs your PC with all kinds of worthless crap! Not to mention spyware and other stuff. Your computer won't recognize it because you aproved AOL.

I HATE THOSE GUYS!!!!!
