They will not be eligible for a variety of government sponsered supplements. Those supplements include certain education loans.
Signing up for Selective Service is not signing up for the "draft", but it is a requirement. It only takes about 2 minutes and can be done on line.

You can be denied for student loans and cetrtain jobs. It is a federal law that all men at the age of 18 must sign up. Plus it is your duty as an American to sign up. We live in the greatest country in the world. You should be proud to do that for you nation. Just remeber what John F Kenndey said "Ask not what you country has done for you but what have you done for your country"

You will not be able to get a job with the federal government or get any federal benefits. When applying for federal jobs/benefits the forms will invariably ask you if you have registered for Selective Service. (Even women must fill out this form, but they check a box which says, "I am not required to register.")
But no one is going to come an arrest you or anything like that.
And if you are not a US citizen (and here as a permanent resident), you could be denied citizenship.

By law they are restricted from voting in any general election, restricted from any federal job or services. There are others but that is the few I know.

You are not elgible for benifits- such as - schooling- housing loans and all help from the country that you were born in. If you can't keep your country safe to raise a family in- You arn't worthy of their protection!
