I would try to avoid starting one if I could- even so much as to dismiss a spark or chemistry and walk away from it. To me for a relationship to work you need time together... and attentiveness. Maybe an established relationship could withstand a temporary separation, but for me there would always need to be a light at the end of the tunnel, an end to the separation. People get lonely and have a way of reaching for whatever is there...

Rarely works. You have to choose which thing is more important to you. The relationship or the new location. Distance in a relationship doesn't always mean that its over but lack of physical intimacy can harm a relationship.

Well that really depends on what the relationship calls for. Are you just going to be good friends? Are you going to get serious about one another?
Well for me, long distance relationships can work, provided that both parties know what they want from this relationship and that they stay to it's course.
Long distance relationships can work - I have one on right at this moment and it is so good and wholesome for we are both mature and handle the situation as required.

Long distance relationships need a lot of trusts and understanding. Constant communication via internet, webcam etc will be added value. Regular meeting up during holidays, birthdays etc will be cool. Exchanging personal belongings and likes will be sensational where you can cuddle and hug while you go to bed... lol.

I feel...that I am in one...

We talk everyday either via IM, e-mail, and/or phone for *hours* on end, send letters....

The only problem comes when you want to kiss and what-not...go out together, and various things you'd like to do together, even just cuddling on the couch... Not being able to do any of that are the drawbacks for being on opposite US coasts..

I think we just convinced ourselves we would make it work and are doing just that..we talk and work things out.. And when we finally are with each other its that much more exciting...and we won't be far apart from each other again..LOL

Love and relationship has no boundaries. Thats why love is always stated as blind, it sees no distance, colour or any setbacks. Cherish whatever relationship that u have, distance has little or no significance. The heart and thought that matters, A thought a day, will make the distance felt nearer and closer.
