Well, whatever you do, study hard. IIT is unpredictable. You never know what you are going to face. Try to frame problems yourself. This way you will get a taste of IIT. The IIT question framers change the problems in such a way that you cannot just memorize the solution process Grasping the concept is more important.

it depends in which class u r studying in .... u shud start preparing from Class IX itself. taking FIITJEE or Brilliant Courses are also a good idea. If not, u can read the IIT prescribed books like H C Verma, Irodov for Physics; TMH and Loney for maths; JD Lee, Morrisson & Boyd for Chemistry. It takes quite a lot for IITJEE, its damn tough .....

To get into an IIT, u need not be extraordinarily brilliant.
All that u have to do is u have to be one step ahead of othrs.

for eg if u are studying 8th std...u shud have the capabilty of 9th std guy ..
