Network Technology ( New Tech )
the history of the intel chips is generally
2002 ( 2000 xtrs and 2 bit )
4004 ( 4 bit )
8008 ( 8 bit )
then came dozens of variations of the 8000 series
8080, 8088 etc. and dozens of SUPPORT chips, 8XXX

the 8086 was the intel CPU with 16 bit address capability,
but IBM chose the 8088 - the same 16 bit address, but
using two 8 bit data's added to get 16 bits ( it used less pins )
The 8087, like many support chips is an 8XXX chip, and
that chip is a MATH CO-Processor.
