any more insulting to Islam/a Muslim than to say that Jesus was not the Son of God to Christianity/a Christian?

In both instances it would be denouncing the reason for the religion and the guiding figure behind both religions.

for a foolish person this insult would be to denounce the reason and the guiding figure behind each religion.

For someone who has the ability to build upon a foundation of stone , they will realise that stones are not to be wasted upon idle provocation - which is what this question really is.

This topic involves two aspects of God (do not involve me in Christian councils - Greeks arguing over one word tire me!) - is the voice of God the Son or His Prophet? Peace be on both of them.....................

Read what they both have to say, decipher and interpret their words in the context of today's world and society - this world includes more than the Umma and the USA, mind you and exist according to the meaning you find there. PACE!

It would not be any more insulting. In response to the other Muslims on the page, I appreciate the fact that you think Jesus was a Prophet, but he, and all those around him said he was the Son of God. So to not believe that would be insulting to him right? He is either the Son of God, or a liar. But no one believed that he was just a prophet. Otherwise they probably wouldn't have killed him.

Both are entirely wrong. People dont get it these days! Its not only Islam - not only Muslims that ahve a major problem with something said against their religion. Same goes wtih any other. Christians, if something against what they believe in, they stand up to protests. Hindus will go to extremes of killing. Bohris (another sect of Islam) do not allow anyone outside their sect to enter mosques just because of the negative preview. Its something everyone sees happening. Its wrong both ways! Not just the christians - or the Muslims. Denouncing anyones religion, faith, belief is wrong! Doing it openly is further wrong. What people believe in should eb respected - no matter what!

you're right. and i understand how you feels. I'm a muslim I don't like people saying that mohamed is not a prophet and I know how christian would feels when people says Jesus is not the son of God. I guess people just have to learn how to respect others believes. I'm sorry that u're upset

To be a Muslim a person has to acknowledge belief in God and in Mohammad being His prophet. Consequently by not believing in Mohammad being God or Allah's prophet, all it means is that he is not a Muslim.

By the way, according to the Quran Jesus was the Messiah and born of a virgin...in fact, Jesus is referred to as 'roohu'Allah' which means one who has God's spirit. What is rejected is trinity and the concept of being the son of God.

No. I'm not insulted when anybody says Mohammed (peace be upon him), isn't their prophet. The only thing I care about is that he is my Prophet, and I love him. Personally, I'm also not worried what Christians say about Jesus. He will soon be here to set the record straight himself. Then he can tell us who's right. Peace.

in Islam,we don't believe Jesus is the son of God,but he was a prophet who is totally and fully respected by all muslims, and the same thing is going on with Virgin Mary( she is not the mother of God)....but we do love her and respect her bcoz God told us to do so and in our Holy Book we have a whole chapter talking about the story of virgin Mary...
but when it comes to Prophet Muhammed, christians don't believe in him,and keep insulting him and say bad things about him and Islam as well...u have the right to choose the religion u want, but why insulting other religions??is Islam bad and evil bcoz u guys r not muslims....we respect all the prophets b4 Muhammed bcoz God has oredred us to do so

Islam is the ONLY religion that gives any respect to Jesus. The holy book talks about him at almost 75 places with respect because he is listed as a prophet of God. Jews thought he was a liar, they tried to crucify him. Hindus, Buddhists, all others have no clue who he was and their religions are older than Christianity. You need to support Islam because other than Bible, Muslims are the ONLY proof that he was alive and was a prophet.

It is not insulting to either Muslims or Chritstians.

It is insulting to God, to attribute a son to God and to deny His Messengers.

The Muslims do neither. Jesus and Mohammed (peace be on them all) are Messengers of God. no more, no less.

Prophet mohammed is not the only son of god, we are only sons and daughters of the god. He was just a prophet like many others, who lived and died.
