Jesus asked us to worship in spirit and truth. John 4;23. That means to learn just WHAT thew Bible does say. Mary is Jesus' mother, respected, but NOT CHANNEL OF PRAYER. Jesus himself is NOT GOD. This is a Catholic teaching. Necessary to make the TRINITY understandable, if it ever was [?]
So if images of Mary appear, it cannot be with God's approval. It becomes a form of ICON worship.Something the Bible warns against.
Therefore, the images can only be promoted by God's enemy, Satan. To get our minds off the important aspects of ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE.
(2 Corinthians 5:7) for we are walking by faith, not by sight.
(John 14:6) Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
(1 Timothy 2:5) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus,

If someone finds the image of the Madonna on their potato chip, then I guess its ok, it must have some kind of spiritual connection for them. Everyone in this world desperately wants to see a miracle, and in this case, people see the Virgin in every day objects, and it gives them some kind of solice or peace of mind knowing that God is looking out for them. It's ridiculous, most of them, but maybe they are just reminders for folks, and this world is so torn and tired, perhaps it is ok.

For the most part, I believe that people see what they want to see. As far as actual appearances of the Virgin Mary, I fully believe the ones the Church has sanctioned due to miraculous cures and other proofs. It is not out of line with what God promised us in Scripture:
[Joel 3:1] Then afterward I will pour out my spirit upon all mankind. Your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions;
[Joel 3:2] Even upon the servants and the handmaids, in those days, I will pour out my spirit.

I believe that most are real. If a person has a really close relationship with God, he will come to them in visions and dreams, (it tells us this in the Bible), and I believe that is what happened at these events.
Have you ever noticed how many people believe in the Exocist, which had to do with Satan and God, but they chose not to believe in something that is manifested by God only ?What's up with that ?

Maybe some of the images can help freshen up people's faith, but I think they mostly...
People see what they want to see and they can convince someone something is what it isn't just to make money or get media coverage for whatever reason.

Their faith is strong and their imagination too. But as long as they believe they are real who are we to judge.
