I am getting married in Michigan but i live in Texas, where do i get my marriage license from?

It all depends on what part in Michigan your coming to.. But in each city they have a city county building where those things are held. Now I do know that downtown Detroit has the Colman A. Young City County building, there you can get your marriage license and get married. I'm not sure on what particular days they hold the ceremonies for marriage. But I'm almost sure you can get your license any day of the week. Congratulation and Good Luck...

You'll need to get it from the County Clerk in the Michigan county you will be standing in when you are pronounced "husband and wife", unless your partner is a Michigan resident, then s/he can get it through their county of residence.

Residency Requirement:
You do not have to be a resident of Michigan, but the fee is $10 more for non-residents.
Residents need to apply for their marriage license in the county in which one of them lives. Non-residents need to apply for their marriage license in the county where they plan on getting married.
Previous Marriage: You need to know the date (mm/dd/yy) and how the last marriage ended. If it was within the last 6 months, you will need to bring proof of the divorce that can be left with the Clerk.
ID Requirement in Michigan:
Picture id such as Drivers License. You can also use Military ID, DD 214, You must also have a certified copy of your birth certificates.

The county that you are getting married in. I live in Ohio and got married in New York....we had to travel to NY a month before the wedding to get our license. There is a certain time limit that they are good for - ours was 60 days. Also, we were to get it beforehand because there is a waiting period, so couldn't do it the day of or before.....Call the city hall where you are getting married and ask them what you need to do.
