My b/f has asked me to marry him and i am not real sure on how to tell my dad. i don't think he likes my b/f to much but i am not to sure. i love my dad and i love my b/f. i am very happy and you think my dad would be happy for me but i just don't know what to do.

You are your dad's little girl and he doesn't want you hurt.
You should talk to your dad and see why or if he does or doesn't like him. He may just have some good input for you to think about before taking such a huge step in your life.
Maybe you should be engaged for a while first.
How long have you been seeing him? Is it love or lust? Big difference.
In the good old days, it would be up to the b/f to ask your father for your hand in marriage. I don't think you should be in the room when they talk though.

Before you tell your Dad get your boyfriend to go around alone (or phone if he is far away) and ask your Dad if he can have his daughter's hand in marriage. It will endear your b/f to your Dad and if he doesnt like him well then he is going to have to get to like him after time. If you are happy then your Dad should be happy for you.

you shouldn't tell your dad your fiance should have asked your dad for his permission first. But since it's too late now I think the three of you should go to dinner or something a place where he can't get to upset with you and then let him know.

If your dad loves you and you love this guy it does not matter. Your dad should support your love no matter what. You need to he happy and that is all that matter. I think you should talk to your dad about this situation. He is your dad and he should love you no matter, so be honest and open with him.

Personally, I think your boyfriend should have asked your dad for his blessing before proposing. That's the respectful thing to do.

Depends on your age. If you are "18" years of age. Go ahead do what you want to. Just be willing to suffer the consequences if things don't go well. Your father knows more about men than you do. and he probably see something you don't in the guy after all you are "IN LOVE" you think!!

you're not supposed to tell your dad...you're boyfriend is supposed to ask for his blessing before asking you to marry him
