Most INTELLIGENT people know that Americans are the biggest illegal drug consumers in the world, and it's all supply and demand. There was even a piece today on 60 MINUTES about huge marijuana shipments crossing over from Canada. (Have any of you heard of 60 Minutes?) Now do you think drugs should be legalized? If it isn't coming from Mexico, it's now coming from Canada.

By the way I have the guts to tell my white, black and asian friends to their faces, exactly how I think and they do the same about their opinions. Not like some gutless racists here who rant and rave about Mexicans "taking" their jobs, but would NEVER have the balls to say it to their faces.

Legalize it, look at how the crime rate, murder rate, et. went up with the prohibiton of alcohol in the 20's....we spend way too many resources trying to battle drugs that could be used in much better ways IMO

I don't think drugs should be legalized with the exception of small amounts of marijuana which should be regulated and taxed, as alchohol is.
I think having marijuana in with the other drugs makes too many people turn a blind eye to the whole thing, as was the case with prohibition.
51 - I do not take or want drugs, myself. However, I have grown up with in a culture where many of my friends think it is fine, and that antipathy towards it is almost a sign of backwardsness. I am just trying to be, in my opinion, practical. I agree that many get in trouble with marijuana, just as many do with alchohol.

I think it should be legalized. This way the government could govern and tax it and this could be a huge turning point in our society.
Personally I have never even tried ANY illegal drugs. I am a 38 year old male. But this is not a factor in my opinion to legalize.
Look at it this way. It is in the country and in use wide spread. And we are spending hundreds of billions of dollars each year to try and stop what simply can not be stopped. We should simply use the money spent trying to stop it to govern, educate, and outline usage guidelines.
After all.... it is a natural herb that can grow nearly in any warm climate.

Have I ever heard of 60 minutes ??
I don't believe anyone in the USA has not heard of 60 minutes..
Many years ago, 60 minutes was a reputable program, now it is
simply liberal leftist propaganda...
But to answer the drug part of the question...
Yes, I am in favor of legalizing drugs .....
Americas war on drugs is little more than a self serving government employment program...

Yes. In a free society, such as the one the Founding Fathers created called America, people are free to do whatever pleases them as long as they don't infringe upon the rights of others.
Today's America is an unconstitutional one. There is no authority for the government to "ban" any substance we might choose for our private use. You might wish there were if you are the busybody holier-than-thou type, but there is not.
Prohibition was the last time the Gov't lawfully tried to ban a substance and they passed a Constitutional amendment. Where now is the Constitutional authority to ban whatever they want to refer to as "drugs"?

Any soft drug should be legalized. Soft drugs are ones that have a a limited human interaction in the creation. Pot, shrooms, paote, etc. are soft drugs. Cocaine, heroine, LCD, meth, etc are hard drugs and should be banned until further fair and just regulations can be created.

Not at all. No question of that. Like any other narcotic things ,these things are taken and started by the low age people and they dont really have any sense what they are doin, right or wrong. NOt only drugs but alcohol and nicotine should also be banned in a slow manner , so that we can see a healthier world
I am telling because, due to habit of chewing tabaco I am at the verge of having mouth cancer. I started this thing very early at the age 15, when I have no knowledge of its diadvantages. now I wish that rubbish thing shouldn't be in this world at all.

I don't see why marijuana is illegal and alcohol isn't. Studies show that it's safer, if you believe that kind of stuff. The war on drugs in America is just a program to give people government jobs. Now, the stuff like crack and meth, etc., needs to be illegal. But pot? Dumb.
