It's noisy & hard to get to know each other & I don't want to drink on a first date...yet guys seem to love to ask girls out for drinks at a bar for a first date (later on, it's fine).

Nothing personal, this goes for all women, but guys don't really want to get to meet you. They want to get you drunk, so they can sleep with you on the first date.

Because people are always nervous on the first date, and alcohol seems to make things go more smoothly for some people--that is not to say you have to get totally plasterd, but it does loosen up nervous and up-tight people a bit to have a drink or two on the first date.
