it is disgusting and offensive. accidents happen, but when it done purposely, that is just plain rude.

It depends on the situation. Plus, sometimes you have no control over the situation. My grandmother farts uncontrollably in public a lot and she really can't help it. We all just laugh it off.

Yes, it's rude. If you've traveled to other countries you'll see that it's only funny in America. In other countries people get up and go to the bathroom to blow their noses (especially in restaurants).

Depends the public place in question. If it's the Four Seasons, yes. If it's the Motel 6, no.

There's something wrong with a human who doesn't think that farts are funny. It's a natural instict to laugh at something like that.

A good quality fart can be a laughable experience if ya do it, walk off and wait to see other's expressions as they walk through it...

Or crack off a loud one and get everyone to blame it on one completely innocent guy who gets rad-faced real easy.

Of course it's rude, sickening and just plain gross. I'm sorry that you seem to have encountered several people like this. Fortunately for me I've never had to socialize with people of this mindset.

Sometimes they act like they think it's funny because they're embarrassed.

Besides, farting isn't always voluntary.

Here in Vancouver a certain ethnic group is doing that more than the others and it is disgusting to see them picking their nose in their car.May be they think they are invisible>

I do, it's all about manners and consideration for others, unfortunatley, some people were born to make others lives miserable, and then find it funny.

Yes, it's rude and if you hang out with those who do those kinds of things, you will be put in that catagory--unfortunately.
