There are no religions that teach its followers/worhippers violence. Not Islam, not Christianity, not Buddhism and etc. Then why create violence just because you disagree with the other religion? Why cant we just live in peace and respect one another regardless of our belief?
Can we atleast stop hating each other in Answers?
~sigh~

i cant see why it is impossible to love one another despite of religion differences. My dad is a moslem and my mum is a christian. some of my relatives are either a buddhist and an atheist but that doesnt deter us from loving and caring for one another. I chose my religion because its the one im comfortable in and still i do respect those of others. Ive been to church ceremonies as well as the moslem mosques. I have frens of various religions and accept them into my home.
I dont hate a person for their religions but i LOVE Peace..

Jasmine,
You have an advantage because you come from a beautifully mixed and diverse background. Therefore, by nature you are a tolerant person.
Many people who speak of violence and hatred simply believe their faith is the one and only way. They usually believe their brand of their faith is also the only right way. Until and unless they are humble before God and God's people, they will go on spewing poison... because that is what's in their minds. Tunnel vision. Their hearts are closed to understanding and tolerance.
Nothing someone from another faith, in their minds, says or does will change their opinions. Their hearts, minds, eyes and ears are sealed... therefore they are, in a way, useless people who are fuel for the hell fire. Until people open up and bloom like a flower, spreading the scent of peace and understanding, they will be unable to reach heaven. Not because God doesn't want them to go, but because they chose to hate and therefore pave their way to a pitiful end.
peace

I don't hate anyone. I am not a christian or catholic or any of the other labels that people place on each other. I am however a firm believer in the god of Abraham, whose name is Jehovah. I however do notice that most of the violence comes from the religion of Islam. Is this coincidence or does it come from the teachings of the Koran? The Koran in my opinion, from what I know about it, is a book that promotes violence. The god that I do believe in says to turn the other cheek, that vengeance is his, not to start holy wars and such. And Christians that do these very same things are guilty of sin from what the bible teaches. They say you get a better look at things when your standing outside looking in. Well, I'm standing outside looking in, and that is what I see.

I don't think your going to get that to happen on here. Simply cause every time you ask a question like this look at the thumbs up and down ratings". You will notice that anyone who says they don't believe in god or give a reason for what is causing all the people hating about peoples believes. People just can't let people believe in what they want so they will give them the "thumbs down" ratings then one or two of them will start asking questions about it and others get insulted.
Maybe yahoo answers should divide it up by giving each religion their own category or something. The religion section was meant for people to ask real questions about their own religion or other religions. It was NOT intended for people to bash other peoples religion or for people to try to force their religion on others when its not wanted.

yeah....thumbs up!!! people always disagree........ because each of us... or each of the follower/worshipper hv their own belief and way of thinking......... angd each of us tend to believe and stand on what they believe rather than believing or accepting others.........
and it's a right to say the true things......... each of the religion also teached us to say only true things.... but then you also need to respect other...
in the dif aspect.... people always love winning and that's the reason why people always quarrel and disagree
n one more thing.......... not all the muslim is the true muslim.... until they practised all the islamic knowledge from the Holy Koran and sunnah....... every single things teached in islam....
juz the same things happened to other religion..
at the end of the day.... people also love to follow their own desire without thinking if it's not permissible in the religion......
moreover....... knowledge without practised is like a tree without fruits............. useless....!!!

Religions in and of themselves will always have bad things said of them because they are of man - and until man can fully comprehend he is spirit and only dwells in flesh for a short time, and dwells in spirit forever, will religions end and faith truly be where it belongs - which is not in religions - but Christ, the only spirit and truth that leads to God. That may seem violently said, but it is not. It is said with great passion and love as many do not realize this simple truth of who we really are - and without that understanding we cannot live peacefully with in ourselves, or respectfully towards ourselves, then we cannot expect to do so outwardly - Christ teaches us that out of the abundance of our heart is the words of our mouth. So, when you read the answers, it's painted pictures of a persons heart. I love your idealism, and how it could be so if people would recognize who we really are and not what we think we are.

Its simple. Ugly, but simple. As long as a person looks at what they THINK is wrong with someone else, their religion, age, politics, race, gender, sexual preference, etc. they don't see what IS wrong with THEM. Its easier and safer for the ego. Funny thing about all that. It normally goes hand in hand with projection. Most of the time what a person sees wrong in another is exactly what, deep down, they believe is wrong with themselves. ~ Peace & Blessings ~

someone said that the opposite of love is not hate but indifference. with the number of people passionately bashing God especially in the category of Religion and Spirituality makes me believe that they are still searching for truth. true atheists will just let believers alone. be indifferent to others beliefs and move on to other categories.

I don't say bad things about other religions. I say TRUE things about other religions. If those true things are also bad, then it's the religion that's bad, not what I say. It's called freedom of speech. If the religion is so holy and true, then nothing I say could possibly threaten that. Right?

they are immature... they dont realize that the only way we can have peace is to spread goodness and not hatred. next time you want to say a bad comment about a religion, everybody should make a vow with themselves to say something good about it instead. you will feel a lot better with yourself and with the world just by saying something nice instead of cruel.
