Sometimes one feels the way you do and the other one uses that against the other. Uses the kids to get to that other partner. It's very, very wrong but, each one can only control theirselves. The one tries to control the other by upsetting the kids, therefore silencing the other partner.

Because they are selfish and don't care about scarring their children for life. If you are the child get different parents. seriously, do you have grandparents or friends that you can stay with? Move out if you can. No child should have to live in a conflict zone. The world is tough enough without emotional battering in the "home". I think this is a reason why some kids run away from home. I would if that had been going on in my home when I was growing up.

The flip side is that the kids never learn how to argue.
There were no fights in my folks house. Now, when my girlfriend want's to have it out -- I give her nothing. We get no where.
My sister even took a conflict workshop to deal with her husband.
Some arguing has to happen so the kids learn how to deal with issues that come up.

Lack of common sense. Usually this is their way of humiliating their spouse in front of "someone" little realising how adversely it affects the kids. It can emotionally scar them for life.
I know one such family where the kids were eager to grow up and move out of the house and as each completed their studies and got a job, they heaved a sigh of relief as they moved out of the house. Today the couple, now too old to fight, live by themselves, all alone as the children feel their parents fight only in their presence so its better to stay away from even visiting them. Sad !!!

We don't fight in front of the kids but they can always tell we were arguing by the tension in the house plus our body language . Sorry, I can't pretend to be happy when I'm mad.

When you're angry, you focus more on the anger you have and who or what caused it, rather than the people around you. Some people will go into another room to keep them from getting in it. Sometimes kids wonder why mom and dad are so angry, so they investigate. Sometimes, others are dragged in because people can use it for ammuniton in their arguments. It's easier to blame others for mistakes, than it is for anyone to admit them. I hate it for anyone whose parents or guardians are like that. It breaks my heart.

i dont think they mean to make kids a part of this, my parents just got a divorce 5 months ago and before that they were fighting infront of me and my sis all the time, they probably think we are too young to understand so we wont be worried or something.

yea they can fight somewhere else, but when parents fight, they are being selfish...and exposing the kids to something that they will remember the rest of their lives. Its really depressing really, but hey, learn from other peoples mistakes!

well, you gotta show kids life some time or another. I have relatives who've never seen parents argue, they're huge wusses, can't handle themselves when anything bad happens.

Cause they're dumbasses and probably come from a broken home where it was common to see that everyday.
