Because contrary to popular belief - Christianity is quite tolerant - and it's that tolerance that allows for all to live in such countries - even though it is not recipricated in most primarily Muslim, Islam, Hindu, and the list goes on Countries.

Every religion/culture in the world can be found in the United States. And out here in California, people mostly respect each other and allow people to live as they please.

Why do Christian majorities think they own the country?
Freedom of religion. I will stand up and defend your right to worship and then I'll stand up and defend a Muslims right to worship.
I don't assume all Muslims will bomb things and I don't assume all Christians will burn people at the stake. History can be cruel to all faiths.

If I were a woman I'd much rather live in a "Christian majority" country. I know a couple of friends that told me of how they treat women there. I'm not saying their all bad but I don't like what I've heard.

What the hell is a Muslim country and what is Christian country? they both started in the Middle East, and western culture has nothing to do with Christianity.....they collide in many ways. I live in Australia and i'm a muslim because i was born here. and i love it with all my heart, i know it is the greatest country in the world (as most people think of their own countries). I go to the beach, have a lot of non-muslim friends, participate in aussie culture.....i'm not a terrorist and i'm just as scared of them as
you are and want them locked up just as much as you do. I live in a western country because i love its culture, it's who i am. it's like asking African americans why they bothered living in america when they've been enslaved given second class rights, treated like animals, have the KKK and other rednecks to worry about....because they were born there or it's their home and who they are. Or it's like asking the KKK why they live in a country where there is such a large black popualtion....well its because they feel it is their home too.
Not all Muslims just sit around bitching about the western country they live in, the majority love it and cherish it would just love the chance for someone who is not Muslim to stop and smile at them and get to know them and see they are not a terrorist but people who are scared like them.
You obviously don't know very much about history, it was Christianity that was spread by the sword, and the gun, and slavery and the stolen generation and the missionaries in Australia. Islam has very little history of being spread by the sword.......it was generally by th word and through exchange of goods, people were free to practice their own beliefs.
And i feel safe because of the genorisity of the people that came from a christian heritage! Well no you actually don't know much outside of US...Australian christian heritage consists of massacres, stolen generation, missionaries where aboriginal girls were raped and kept in virtual prisions, segregation and paternalism in an effort for the aborigines to die out so Australia would become all white and christian. My mum is not muslim her family fled Europe because of that little world war the christinans started and the muder of 6 milliion jews. My dad was invited to this country not fled...as an engineer who helped to build the country that he loves. Take a look at the history of say Europe, the birth of white and western civilisation...crusades, no womens rights colonisation, inquisition, wtch hunt, purges, Stalin, Hitler, communism, the balkans. the power of the medieval church.....
The taliban was put in place by America! after it had nicely been invaded by another Christian majority-Russia. before that it had some of the highest levels of women in university and in white collar jobs. The Middle East was not always in the conditon it was either...remeber Britain and co's plan to divide up the area after ww1, thus destabilising everything and not letting the indigenous populations have any control over their own resources? this led to poverty which is what often causes violence. look at sudan, look how poor, why? and in other countries in Africa women don't have rights and there is war between two tribes, due to poverty, and why are they poor?
what about Zimbabwie? keen to live there, well it has no Muslims but it aint such a friendly place. And would have been keen to live in aparthied south Africa if you were black? and it didn't end that long ago, New Guinea has the highest rate ofviolence against women in the world and they are also some of the poorest, and they were converted to Christinaity and had all control of their resources taken from them by christians ...
Poverty causes a lot of extremism anf poverty is often the result of western (which you think is christian) greed and colonisation.
I'm not saying that stalin was Christian, i know his regime forbade chritstianity and any religion. but it all occurred in a nation that had a population that was essentially christian (orthadox) to begin with, that knid of disaster of 25 million deaths....started in a nation where its people were christian....and its people supported the the colonialisation of other countries it had no business in. And should i bring its treatment of jews when it was still a very orthadox nation. Infact the treatment of jews throughout europe.....its not only the Muslims who have committed injustices against te jewish faith.
Turkey is not all Muslim. and what about the muslims who fought on the side of the brits/french etc....like the palestinians. and yes christians fought against the germans in both wars...the point is they fought against each other, and it wasn't all the germans fault in ww1, but how they were treated with no mercy and humility after by europeans lead to the collapse of the republic and another massive war in Europe......constantly fighting until only very recenty and then balkans begs to differ.
Are you gonna ask the same of Catholics? i mean look at the IRA and the Mafia and the Seperatists......
And please refer back to the begginning of my question. this is why i live where i live. And australia is not a Christian nation, and it did not "let me in" because of it's Christian values, when Australia was trying to protect it's Christian values it had the white australia policy, segregation, stolen generation etc. Australia today is hardly religious or christian at all, particuarly in compared to the US. you don't have a right to tell me i can't live in the country i love you racist fool.
