NO, you are NOT unlucky to be tall, and you should NOT be ashamed of your height.
And don't slouch in an attempt to hide it - it will only draw attention to it!!
Believe me - tall, thin, and long legs are GOOD things, even though they may not seem like it now. At 14, your proportions probably seem really bad to you, but they'll get better. And even though you may be taller than your friends, if you don't focus on it and get hung up on it, you can look past it.
Some ways to help:
1) When buying shoes, get the lowest heel you can. That means looking for flatter sneakers, instead of those sneakers with an inch of padding on the sole.
2) When you're talking with your friends, stand back about an extra half step from them, so they're not "looking up" at you as much. It will help you not be as conscious of "looking down" at them.
3) If you're really uncomfortable around people who are shorter than you, consider standing "hip shot". If you see how a horse stands when it's resting, it bends one leg a little and puts all its weight on the other. This cocks the hips, and can take about a half an inch to an inch off how tall you look.
4) I said it before, but I'll say it again - DON'T SLOUCH. Don't duck your head, don't slump your shoulders, don't hunch your back. That will only make it MORE obvious that you're taller, not less.
There are times that being tall is a pain. But overall, it's really a good thing. My niece is 14 and is probably about your height, so you're not alone.

You shouldn't be ashame. You just boomed early and you most likely won't grow any much taller. My girlfriend is 5'7 also, and 5'9 with heels on. Girls these days are taller. As a guy, I don't think a girl 5'7 or taller is a big deal.
You should be proud, nad you're at the right height for modeling. Any girls under 5'7 is not qualify. Anyways.. to me I don't think you should worry too much. ok?

Hey girl, I am 5' 9" and thin too and I sometimes hate it too, because I'm taller than some guys, and then I feel like they find that a turn-off. Hey, but at least we can reach for things on the top shelf at a grocery store! hehe, but yah I understand what you mean, but don't be ashamed of your height, embrace it, God made you!! Also, all super-models are tall too! Guys like long legs!

I'm 5'9", and dating a woman who's 5'10". And it's really nice to have somebody basically your height. A woman has to be at least 6' tall for me to think of her as "tall". Otherwise she's "my height" or "short". And at 14 & 5'7" you won't grow more than another 2 inches or so, right?
And you want to know a height issue? Two of my friends are dating - a 6'5" guy and 5'2" girl. The top of her head doesn't even reach his chin. They can't kiss when they're both standing on level ground. But even they make it work. (Stairs and chairs, basically...)

Oh, honey 5' 7" is not tall. It's average. You have just matured more quickly than your friends. You will probably quit growing very soon. I'm no taller now than when I was 14 and I'm 31 now. Do you know some designers will only let girls under 6' model their 'petite' lines? Yes, enjoy your ht. And by all means stand up straight! It looks awful when a girl slumps. Very unattractive. Look proud and confident and people will respect you.

You're worrying over nothing. Why should you be ashamed? You're the height you are and that's all there is to it. Short of taking a chainsaw to your legs there's not a whole lot you can do to change it. In a few years you'll be wondering what the big deal was anyway.

You should never be ashamed of yourself for any reason first off and secondly, date guys as tall as you and not shorter. That'll make you feel better about yourself and most men are about 5' 8" - 6' on average so you can't go wrong unless you date some really short Italian guy, LOL!!

There's no reason to feel badly about it. You may not grow taller. 5'7" is about average for a woman. The long legs are unadulterated good luck - clothing designers design their best stuff for tall, thin women with long legs. They also design for taller-than-average women; if you gain more height, that's not going to be inconvenient. Take it from someone who, at 5'6", is forever hemming pants that were made for women who're about 5'10" and have a 33-inch inseam!
