Well, the first thing you need to do is decide if you are for or against this topic.
If you support it, try some of these ideas:
1. Boys and girls tend to learn differently. Boys learn better by doing things/hands on approach. Girls learn better by observing/discussing. It is difficult to incorporate both styles in one classroom.
2. With older children/teenagers, having members of the opposite sex in the same room is distracting.
3. Boys and girls require different disciplinary styles. Girls tend to be calmer and quieter; boys tend to be noisy and disruptive, needing firmer discipline.
If you oppose this topic:
1. Boys and girls tend to learn differently. Exposure to different learning styles will help both learn to think and explore new ways of doing things.
2. With older children/teenagers, having members of the opposite sex in the same room is distracting. However, as adults they will be exposed to this mix daily. Starting younger will help them to focus inspite of these types of distractions.
3. Boys and girls require different disciplinary styles. Observing the results of different types of behavior will help children learn to deal with them as adults and see the consequences of different types of behavior.
