I am getting married in December and my fiance is stationed at Fort Wainwright. We will be leaving to go directly to Alaska a few days after the wedding. We will be getting alot of wedding gifts, etc. and I dont know if they will allow them in their original boxes or if I have to buy luggage for them or what I should even do...

Thanks!

Two checked baggage per person. One carry on. That's the usual rule.

To ship on a passenger jet is very $$$$. Your best bet is to use a moving service that will let you buy space in a container. Or get a wooden crate big enough for the stuff and pack with LOTS of padding, bubble wrap and styrafoam.

You are going to have to ship them separately but pack the items very well. You might check with UPS, FedEx and the USPS to see if they offer special rates for military personnel. I know the post office offers special packages for civilians to send things to the military. Good Luck and Congratulations!

i would call the resolution desk at the airport and ask for thier advise and if they let you keep the things in there original boxes they will charge a extra fee and put them in the cargo hold.

Why don't you have people mail your gifts to your home instead of bringing them to the wedding/reception.
