They see a pediatrician (if they have an on-going relationship with them) until they are 18yo or 20yo. At least that's what my cousins are doing with theirs. Don't know about your area or how your friend's pediatrician does it.

Sometimes kids see a pediatrician until they are 18. Other times when the child starts getting uncomfortable seeing a pediatrician (young teenager). By the time this decision comes up, she will no longer be clueless. She will have solved a million other little problems. Just give her a hug and your continued support.

Until they are 18. A boy usually needs no other doctor until they are past being a child which is 18. A girl though although still needs a pediatrician for her checkups should also see a gyn after puberty if she is having problems or considering birth control. My step-daughter is 16 she sees our pediatrician for her yearly checkups as he has always saw her but she goes to mine and her dad's doc if it is just a sinus thing or something minor because it is often quicker to get her in there. It is really up to the parent and child as some kids might feel embarrassed going to a pediatrician as a teen.

My sisters son's pediatrician said that till he was 21. Though, I think that all pediatricians all feel differently. Tell her to make a list of all the things she wants answered for her first visit and really every visit and ask before the Doctor leaves the room.

Some children continue to see their pediatrician until age 18, or until they become pregnant or parents themselves if they are under 18. There is no actual rule about this.

A child can see a pediatrician until they are teenagers. Some pediatricians offer support groups for teen parents and counseling.

It depends on the practice and the child. I know a few people that are still visitingtheir pediatrician and they are 18 years old.

A child should never stop seeing his/her pediatrician. They should get regular checkups forever. When they get too old for a pediatrician, they can change to another doc. But, when you have a baby, they will tell you when to bring the child back and when the baby will need check ups and shots! tell her not to worry!

I saw my pediatrician until I was 18 years old. He said that the first appointment after I turn 18 is the last appointment to have with him. I thought it was an emotional event because he has been my only doctor my whole life and I trust him entirely. It was really hard switching doctors but he refered me to someone really great.

You can see the pediatrician from the moment after birth until you are 18.
Some peds offices only take until 16, and recommend OBGYN at that point.
